ID-Cooling Rolls Out the IS-50X Low-profile CPU Cooler Capable of Handling 130W TDP

Isn't that how all top-down CPU coolers work? And you don't exactly blow hot air back. There are nice benefits to be had this way. The mosfet heatsink is partially cooled, the closest RAM stick, the M.2 SSD when located between the CPU socket and the first PCIe slot....Top-down coolers may not...

List cases with 200mm side fan support

I have removed Antec, I thought they had, but only other positions indeed. @Bill_Bright thank you for the time to summarise all this. I will address each point below. - why? -> recently I started putting more load on my PC and my current case doesn't do very well to be honest. By accident I...

List cases with 200mm side fan support

Sup all, I have a little odd request. Could you help me list PC cases that have 200mm side fan support? I tried with Google, but results are inconsistent. Could be old stuff as well, doesn't have to be new cases. So far I have listed: - Corsair Carbide 500R - Cooler Master HAF XM - MSI...

What's in a Lootbox? EA Says "Surprise Mechanics, Quite Ethical"

It doesn't seem so bad analogy to me to be honest. When my daughter is up for an egg, and they go in series: like barbie-series or minion-series, she'd look into the available boxes, shake a few eggs and then make a choice. Why would you shake the egg: you are aiming for a certain toy/reward...

The Filthy, Rotten, Nasty, Helpdesk-Nightmare picture clubhouse

Sooo, my two princesses got hold of the wireless keyboard (a Dell KM636) and they have roughed up its feathers. More like ravaged the thing. Damage report: pen, pencil, marker on the top. Down below sticky stuff around the keys and they return slowwwwly (some of them don't return at all)...

Noctua Presents New Chromax Line Fan and Heatsink Accessories

Dude...like, I am not judging you. Really, I am not :D, but there isn't a news piece about cosmetic stuff: case, fan, cooler, etc. where you'd give the same permutation of: boring+seen it before+long high pitched yawn :) I feel like there should be: bonehead123 seal of Approval award, since you...

Speeding Up your USB: USB 4.0 Products Expected to Appear by the end of 2020

I haven't fully implemented USB3 with all versions. Type-C is somewhere over the rainbow, let alone specs for USB 4.0.

    Aerocool Tor Pro

Finally that RGB PSU makes sense :) What I liked about this one is: the slogan says "flaunt your rig"...and they did design the thing to flaunt your rig. Even the PSU fan is facing the window. I can get behind this kind of honest advertisement. I'd consider it if I was in the market for a...

[FundayMonday] Where is your PC placed?

Sup all, Monday is almost over...at least in this part of the world. Some innocent fun at the end of the working day. Without further ado, a quick poll of where is your PC placed. I have mine on the floor, happily sucking dust and cold air from the bottom :D

In Win Debuts $4000 3D Printed Case Among Others at Computex 2019

This. Even if you go full commando with low-tier 3D printer+ paid slicer! ($120 bucks for Simplify 3D) + the filament + DesignSparkMechanical (for example) and puzzle print this crap you will still be well below the price tag and the added benefit of having fun. On the hand as others noted...it...

    Silverstone ALTA S1

No, for me it isn't (...the spiritual successor of FT02). Half the functionality is gone out the window: the U-shape unibody provided elegant clearance and breathing room from the floor/desk, it is gone here.... No 5.25 bays, not a single one and a bunch of small other things, which I'd address...

MSI Announces MPG SEKIRA 500 Series: The Ultimate Craftsmanship of The Gaming Chassis

Intel to Move 3D XPoint Memory Manufacturing to China

That's oversimplified IMO. The sum of capital, know-how etc. makes up the "barrier of entry" to any business. IP's alone doesn't grant you hop-in-the-game-ticket. Some businesses are "protected" by the very nature of the venture. You have two main plane-building companies, two main CPU and GPU...

Sorry for that, I misinterpreted the end of the thread. I voted for the Netgear one, but haven't pulled the trigger yet, I'm looking for a deal on it. I think it'll be ok with it.

Waning Popularity: After Peaking, Apex Legends Already Lost 75% of Its Streaming Audience

You shouldn't be. There is more to this. You see in order to play a game, you need to invest into: time, money for PC/console,phone, buy the actual game (if it's paid)..etc..etc. And for watching you only need a device capable of playing video. For people that are debating whether to quit gaming...

To upgrade or not to upgrade (would I really notice a difference?) That is the question.

Light office work and gaming usage as you said is a bad combo IMO :). It means, "I don't really need much, but PC is my hobby and the upgrade bug is bitting me". For office work, your PC is fast as your slowest component. In the past that was HDDs, but I see you already have an SSD, so I'd say...

House router for a hundred bucks

I know it sound a lot, but I didn't give finer details in the first post. House may be 4 floors, but its tiny. Right now they use a D-link DIR315 for 10 euro I bought years ago and on the attic laptops get one or two bars. If this little guy can do this much, I expect something that costs 10...

    Razer Goliathus Control & Speed

My first thought when I saw the reviewed item. There like bazillion copies. Actually there are SO many 3mm pads out there, I don't think it matters any more what brand. Now if you are looking for 1mm thickness it gets interesting. :) Logitech for DA win.

Are SSDs effective when using SATA II ?

I am always for SSD. My parents PC used to be 775 socket material. I put Sandisk SSD years ago and the system skyrocketed. Sata was 2 and still saw huuge improvement.
