Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Na na it's all good ;p I'm only questioning you to no end because I know very little about this ACK bracket conversion, etc. I'm sure a lot of it comes explained in the instructions but just incase I want to know everything I need to know before getting it and messing something up or buying the...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

cool so it is AM3 - so your saying it does come with the mounting bracket that you replace on the motherboard, the one that has the bolt across or mount that is, AND the one that you attach the HSF mount with the 4 knobs. I ask because I didn't think I saw that part in the images.

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Are the things that hold the HSF down to the ack bracket, pegs or whatever, are those screwable or just with fingers. Phillips head?

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Awesome! So if I want the fan to face the back of my case I just have to put on the ACK bracket and you put the paste on (little bit of glob in the middle right?) and then screw them all down evenly till it gets finger tight and same things with the screws holding the bracket down to the...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Nice nice this does well to simplify it for me hehe thanks a lot. Yea so it looks like I will have to turn mine towards the back so I will have to unscrew the bracket currently there and install the different one included with the HSF to turn it towards the ram slots and then I can either bolt...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Thanks guys- the above diagram for installation makes it a little clearer for me.. so good all of this stuff uses the clamping system am I correct? I just thought that maybe there was another type in there that you screw it down only or something I dunno. As for this HSF your showing me it looks...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

I think I'm being a noob about it because I'm not understanding why it needs screws. I thought all you needed was the latch but it comes with the bracket as well? Is that just optional and you don't need to install with it in other words? So there is no screwing of the mounting bracket just the...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

lol that thing is huge! and again this one has the side things you screw into the motherboard. I'm just looking for something that can latch onto the top of the cpu without having to screw anything into the back of the motherboard that I can pop over the pegs with the metal clasps. Was eyeing...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Thanks btw everyone - knowing that its 71 is extremely comforting lol. Anyhow as far as this HSF goes Goodman it doesn't look like the latching kind it looks like they are pegs. I don't think thats the way mine is setup.

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Oh yea I've been using that thank you button don't worry ;p. As for the dust issue I have been regularly spraying inside of the case and fans, etc. but it was running out pretty fast as they do so I probably was pushing more dust into the heatsink rather than blowing it out so I picked up a new...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Damn that thing is beastly lol. Looks like it absorbs a lot of heat but that kit is crazy and looks way out of my skill range as far as attaching this HSF but I think it should fit but yea tight squeeze hehe. Yea it's really weird svchost is still eating 140,076k but now my comp is back at...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Yea games don't get all shakey and then eventually crap out or lead to a restart just if anything when I first formatted my system I still had some AMD drivers leftover from my old gfx card that was causing me some trouble so I figured when I first tried to test out one of my games and it reset...

Heat concerns and questions about new HSF

Hey all, kinda new here but have had a lot of help with finding a good gfx card that would help carry my rig into the land of new directx11 games approaching and what not but in the back of my head I have always been worried about the temps my cpu has been getting at, at least according to my...

    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 vs SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GD

Yea prolly wouldn't overclock since I don't have the best cooling system. CPU gets up to 60c sometimes on high loads so that kinda bothers me. ATM I'm looking at the XFX HD-685X-ZDFC Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit DDR5 P... based off of what cdawall was saying and it has a nice mail in rebate as...

    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 vs SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GD

lol well damn thanks for being honest. Yea I'm not really loaded right now to buy a card that's too pricey but I would probably drop $200 if it meant having to make a difference. So what is that list BarbaricSoul? Is that all Sapphire brands and what not? Like I said I'm willing to shell out...

    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 vs SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GD

hey guys I recently purchased the Radeon HD 5770 1G 128-bit GGR5 in hopes that it would greatly improve my graphics come some of the newer game releases ahead such as Dues Ex, DNF, Crysis 2, etc. Currently I have the radeon HD 4870 so I felt that I could sink another $140 or so to get the latest...
