    AMD "Raven Ridge" Silicon Detailed

Summit Ridge has a 32-lane PCIE root complex with 24 lanes enabled (x16 + x4 for NVME + x4 FCH link), if Raven Ridge has 28 lanes enabled (16+4+4+4), where are the extra 4 lanes routed to, and will those 4 extra lanes work on the desktop version. That's what I'm asking.

    AMD "Raven Ridge" Silicon Detailed

Is this correct? If it's actually 28, are 4 lanes routed somewhere else? Will newer boards support 2 CPU-connected M.2 slots/an additional on-board x4 PCIE connection? It seems a bit odd that Raven Ridge has more 'active' PCIE lanes in its root complex than Summit Ridge does.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 and 1600X CPUs Found With 8 Working Cores

Most civilized countries don't see getting more for the same price as "false advertising". What would constitute false advertising is if AMD sold these chips as 1700/1700X/1800X SKUs, but only enabled 6 of the cores.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper Memory and PCIe Detailed: What an MCM Entails

    Why would the remaining 28 be configured as 14 per die? I think the simplest configuration would be: Die #0: x16 + x16 Die #1: x8 + x8 + 3x M.2 + chipset The most complex configuration would probably be: Die #0: x16 + x8 + two M.2 Die #1: x16 + x8 + one M.2 + chipset

ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme X399 Motherboard Pictured Some More

    The box says that there are 3: 1x DIMM.2 slot with 2 M.2 Socket 3 with M key 1x M.2 Socket 3 with M key.

Asus X399 ROG Zenith Extreme Unboxed Ahead of Launch

At least the DIMM.2 adapter does put SSDs in an airflow path. From what I can tell, there may be a third M.2 connector under the X399 chipset heatsink (looks like a M.2 2280 standoff just below one edge of the heatsink).

AMD Ryzen Threadripper Motherboards to be Showcased on July 25th

Gotta say, the Zenith Extreme is one awesome looking board. I bet it'll run a good bit north of $600.

Xbox One X Hardware Specs Give Gaming Desktops a Run for their Money

I have this feeling that the "evolved Jaguar" cores are probably Puma/Puma+ cores clocked higher.

What was it for? A money sink.

    AMD's Entry-Level 16-core, 32-thread Threadripper to Reportedly Cost $849

Yes, disabled in symmetrical pairs, but remember, ThreadRipper is a dual-die MCM, so having a 4:4+3:3 or a 3:3+2:2 configuration is possible.

Intel Rushes in a Six-core Mainstream Desktop Processor by September

You didn't expect a new socket? Remember, it's two (three if you're lucky) processor generations per socket.

RX Vega will become Rage X Fury

Nah, I'd rather have the Radeon RX Vega "Friendship is Magic" card with the MLP-themed shroud and CLC radiator. :p

RX Vega will become Rage X Fury

That was mainly tongue-in-cheek, but I do feel that 8 dual Vega 10 cards and two 32c/64t CPUs would use a fair amount of power, not necessarily 5KW worth. If AMD was to release a Vega Radeon Instinct/Pro Duo, with 32GB HBM2 per GPU (extremely large interposer!), and I had the mountain of cash...

RX Vega will become Rage X Fury

Hmm... The Radeon RX Vega Rage Fury Maxx Pro XTX/XTPE/FX2 Ryzen Black Crimson Catalyst Edition Octal GPU bundle for your über leet dual socket Naples system. *5000W PSU not included, and your warranty will be voided if you do not purchase an AMD Wraith Black Edition 5KW PSU at the same time.

AMD's RX Vega to Feature 4 GB and 8 GB Memory

I think you're a slight bit unsure about HBM. Since AMD places the HBM stacks along with the GPU on an interposer, Sapphire couldn't offer a 16GB edition, unless: AMD releases a GPU with 16GB, Sapphire releases a dual-GPU card or there are additional memory controllers in the GPU that will allow...

AMD's RX Vega to Feature 4 GB and 8 GB Memory

When did AMD promise a consumer GPU with 16GB of HBM2? I know it was said that the increased number of layers per stack will allow them to release HBM2 products with 16GB and 32GB, but I never saw AMD promise that those capacities would be on consumer products.

AMD May Have Ryzen 16-Core Version and New Chipset in the Works for June

Since Naples is a quad-die MCM CPU made of 4 Summit Ridge/Zeppelin dies, and not a monolithic 32-core chip, would there be much of a point in one with half it's cores disabled (which probably wouldn't net a clock increase), over just making a dual-die MCM? I understand that yeilds may not...

AMD May Have Ryzen 16-Core Version and New Chipset in the Works for June

Hmm, maybe? Dual Zeppelin dies - 64 PCI-E 3.0 lanes: 48 (3x16) for graphics Up to 12 lanes dedicated for M.2/U.2 slots (3x4 M.2/U.2 with x4 chipset link, 2x4 with x8 chipset link) One can hope...

BIOSTAR Shows off First Mini-ITX Socket AM4 Motherboard

I think I have found the board for my 1600/1600X/1700(possibly) + RX480/580/1060(Ti) portable build. Need something with a bit more oomph than the craptop I'm currently using. Blender tends to bring it to its knees.

AMD Reveals Ryzen 7 Family, Pricing, and Radeon Vega Logo

IF (so strong an if, it can be heard worldwide) AMD was to make a single-socket "HEDT" platform based on Naples, I would hope they'd use Ryzen 9, because heaven knows that Intel didn't have the marketing prowess to call their HEDT chips the Core i9 series...
