Coffee Lake ITX build - w. questions

I get your points, but this is supposed to be a high-end gaming pc for the next 3 years. I will upgrade the GPU to what's supposed to be GTX 2080 or whatever the name will be. Midrange GPU's won't do. The 980 is only there until that new GPU shows up. I may even wait with buying until those are...

Coffee Lake ITX build - w. questions

That's why I'm considering the MSI Micro-ATX - if the 4 slots has any benefit Oh, and thanks for the heads up on the NVME.. I just did a quick look in to it, and yes the NVME's are faster, by 0/100's to 0/10's of a second.. Sooo, not worth it. Any recommendations for 1TB SSD's? And I like...

Coffee Lake ITX build - w. questions

Hi guys and gals, Planning to build a new ITX based Coffee Lake gaming pc. Due to space and girlfriend requirements, I'm trying to build small, quiet and nice. I have never build anything but full ATX builds, and it's been awhile. So I'm pretty much going all in here. CPU: 8700k Motherboard...

NSA Hides Spying Backdoors into Hard Drive Firmware

Just accept the fact that government agencies knows what you're doing if they want to. I'm pretty sure they don't care that you look a "teen lesbian" catagories or that you're stalking your ex on facebook after 2 beers..

Razer Unveils Updated Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

I don't get why they moved the two buttons from Naga v1 from the front to behind the scroll wheel. They are useless there it seems, and at least for me those 2 are the most important buttons. Now I have to get a Molten edition if I need to replace my Naga.

Top 10 games from the past you want to see redone and why

For your System Shock 2 fix look at http://www.routinegame.com/ I hope I get to play that with an HD Oculus Rift.. I'll probably die of fright though :D

Top 10 games from the past you want to see redone and why

Just saw this: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-07-01-creator-of-syndicate-wars-returns-with-spiritual-successor-satellite-reign Now I feel like putting the Syndicate games on my list.. That FPS from a while back wasn't Syndicate at all.. And Biggishady Barkers Undying was...

Top 10 games from the past you want to see redone and why

I just really didn't like Quake.. I bought a Voodoo card to play the damn thing even.. Multiplayer was ok though, but Quake multiplayer topped with Quake 3 imo.. Still wasn't as good as the org. Unreal Tournament though. Doom had a MUCH better atmosphere and gameplay. I think Quake struggled...

Top 10 games from the past you want to see redone and why

Ohh a REAL Wolfenstein remake instead of those wannabes :) Cannon Fodder! Yup!!! Podracer was actually a REALLY good racer! Rogue Squadron.. Hmm.. Making it today and remove the on-rails.. Hot damn!

Top 10 games from the past you want to see redone and why

So I just saw that Rise of the Triads has a release date now, and I remember that quite fondly from back in the day.. It was truly a hidden gem I think. So which 10 games from the past would you like to see redone in a modern engine and why? Mine: 10: Hexen - At the time it came out...

    power supply size for silence

So how do I figure out exactly what kind of power supply I need? The overall goal is to have the powersupply stay as silent as possible. The build I'm planning is a 4770K mild OC, 16 gigs memory, 780 GTX (prob. the MSI Gaming one), MSI GD-65 Gaming mobo and a couple of hdd's (ssd and normal...

    Advice and Opinion

The Corsair AX series is fine.. 750w is enough to power 2 high end gpu's, so you're fine.. You can do some digging with regards to your actual power consumption and when the PSU is most effective and still silent if that matters to you. The difference between the OC boards and the Gaming...

New member and ask for some advises

What is the purpose of each rig? Some odd choices like amount of memory and the complete insane overkill on PSU choice :). What are you using the gpu for since it matters so much to you that you're willing to spend extra for a slower card but one extra gig of gpu memory?. Right now the...

    Advice and Opinion

First off.. Stay with the Samsung 840 Pro SSD.. Just go for a 256'ish size instead.. I have a Vector myself, and it performs well, but apparently there are some reliability issues with the drive according to the internets :).. I hope they don't hit me.. Anyway, stay with the Samsung 840 Pro...

    Silent Haswell gaming pc

It's true I could probably get close to the same performance by doing just that.. I have also contemplated that actually. I have been planning to do my system upgrade with Haswell for some time, and I was a little dissapointed by the performance increase. So a few things made me decide to...

    Silent Haswell gaming pc

So I'm going to be selling off my old i2500K pc and building a much more silent gaming pc next. I will be going for silence and features much more than bleeding edge OC and performance. Mostly because the latter two seems like Haswell OC's pretty much the same on every board, and performance -...

Upgrading CPU, Mobo and RAM - Gaming! Help yo! :)

Looks fair.. I'd opt for the 2600k though for videoediting duties... I have never tried ASRock boards, but they seem to be mighty popular.. I dared to go Asus myself for the first time in 10 years (always had bad experience with them), and although I was lucky I build 2 very similar machines for...

How odd, my system specs were gone.. It's not really a huge upgrade, but the offer is so good I kinda have to take it anyway - then the kids can get a kick-ass gaming pc :)

    Asus ROG desktop experience

So, due to some rather funky tax rules in my country, we can sometimes buy hardware with a tax deduction.. Long story short, I now have the opportunity to buy one of those Asus ROG desktops at what I deem to be a pretty nifty price. So its an Asus CG8565-NRCH03.. I don't have the specifics...

SteelSeries and Gunnar Optics Introduce SteelSeries DESMO Gaming Eyewear

Freedom I do have a pair of yellow tinted biking glasses, and even though I admit the color looks close they are not.. At least not with mine.. The biking glasses are much more yellow. The gunnars only give a yellow hue right when you put them on, but after about a minute they feel like clear...

SteelSeries and Gunnar Optics Introduce SteelSeries DESMO Gaming Eyewear

After being very sceptical I ran into a few very positive reviews of Gunnars and since I had some cash to burn I bought a pair. I must say that they did work for me.. I used to have this dried out tired sensation in my eyes when I went to bed at night, that has completely dissapeared.. I put...

GTX 580 Phantom 3GB temperature issues

My RMA'ed card fiiiiinally arrived, and the cooler was the same as the old one, and it had the gap that I thought caused the issue on the bad card.. So I wasn't hopefull when I booted up.. But lo and behold.. I struggle to even break 60 degrees on this card.. So YAY! :D.. When I was hitting...
