    Wireless Reception

The router/adapter was excellent, its just the last week and a bit that its been playing up for no good reason after working for 3-4 years without issue. Im reluctant to scrap it unless it totally drops dead, I spent a good $400-$500 on it. If it is dead I'll probably go the LAN route as I...

    Wireless Reception

Its very temperamental. I just downloaded something and noticed increased speeds. Ran speedtest again and the speed has jumped up 10mb/sec. But the signal strength still sucks. Annoying, I dont think I'll ever pay for wireless gear again. Major letdown and super expensive.

    Wireless Reception

Its hard to say which is broken. Because my laptop gets the same signal as the desktop (1-2 bars), the reception does improve right in the line of sight of the router, but I should really be getting the full 5 bars. For some dumb reason I can only select channel 6 in my router config panel...

    Wireless Reception

For years Ive had perfect wireless connectivity between a fixed router (D-Link 634M) and my computer in the adjacent room (D-Link G520M). But for the last two weeks the reception has dropped to 1-2 bars, with speeds following. The wired computer next to the router gets 23Mb/sec via...

Graphic Artists United™ -- Graphics Request Thread!

I have carbide.ui Unfortunantly I never bothered to learn to use the damn thing and none of the layout formats seemed to match my phone, even though my phone was listed as compatible (Nokia E51). Meh.

Just quickly checked this thread, taking a break from an essay :( For now I think specialties can be extracting images, photo manipulation. Maybe Ill get to be more of an all rounder later.

    Which speakers i shd buy?

Not that I'm an expert, but screen size shouldnt be a factor when buying speakers. Its all to do with application and room size AFAIK.

    High res hardware pictures needed

Too big for inside a store, but not too big for one hanging at the front of the store at the entrance. Printing at that size is done on a large format machine, I dont know what mediums theyd use, but they can do anything paper based. I once did a 4x1 metre print, they print it onto film paper...

    High res hardware pictures needed

My conversions are estimates, but for a 10'x5' print: For viewing on a screen at scale, the image would be 9354x4252 pixels at 72dpi If you wanted photo realistic quality, the ppi (the amount of pixels per inch of paper needs to be between 240 and 300. Working with the bare minimum, your...

It better not be. Come print time, those images will be coming out ugly as hell. Hopefully not intended for close up viewing.

Wanted:Automated email program that monitors a folder

Id have no idea how to do that haha. So If I was a noob, which I am, Id use that foldershare program. Or I suppose id read up on the FTP setup, but if I was only gonna transfer word docs or something it probably might not be worth the bother?

    Problem with Computer:( Help!

Windows is fussy with hardware changes. If you made any the only way to get your compy working is to ring up. Id take the hard drive out and copy the contents onto another pc (since you wanted to reinstall OS anyway). Then reinstall windows from scratch. Unless you can figure out a way of...

Wanted:Automated email program that monitors a folder

Everything I found does the sync via FTP/Server or over network. Not by email. Im assuming this cant be done (computers in separate geographic locations?).
