HP Envy x360 with 1440p screen?

So I bought a refurb HP Envy x360 with the AMD FX 9800P and recently discovered I could set the screen resolution to 2560x1440 despite HP advertising this machine as only being capable of 1920x1080. Has anyone else bought one of these and found they could change the resolution to 1440P? I was...

AMD and NVIDIA Add-in-Board GPU Market Share from 2002 to Q3/2016

If AMD doesn't do something about the 460's lack of performance relative to GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti, that gap is going to get even bigger. nVidia's partners are going to be peddling those cards to the low end of the market as fast as they can make them and 460 is going to get squashed.

nVidia is cutting down performance on GTX970 cards in new drivers?

You think AMD doesn't do it, too?

R9 290 Artifacts in certain games

I would say that you are experiencing a bug similar to the rainbow texture one that AMD users are experiencing with Fallout 4, which is based on the Skyrim game engine. The devs over at the Bethesda forums currently have no plan to fix that bug and have come out and said as much.

    An upgrade from a 7970

With that motherboard and CPU, you'd be better off to save your money and build a newer system before you upgrade your video card. You won't be able to take full advantage of a newer, high end card until you upgrade your system first.

Sapphire Radeon RX 470D NITRO Pictured, Beats GTX 1050 Ti

Unless they release a version that is both faster and that does not require external power, the 1050 Ti isn't going anywhere. The current fastest factory overclocked 1050 Ti from Zotac does not require external power and the 1050 Ti GPU has been overclocked to over 1.8ghz already. That's a high...

ZOTAC Announces its GeForce GTX 1050 Series

I just ordered a Zotac 1050 Ti OC version for my budget machine as it is the fastest card right now that uses only 75W of power. I normally buy only AMD cards, but the performance of this card is so much better than even the fastest RX 460, which is all AMD has that draws 75W or less. AMD is...

AMD Radeon R9 Nano Coming Sooner Than You Think?

With the compute power this card has and the low power consumption, there are going to be a lot of people switching to these in their Bitcoin mining rigs. The cost of electricity is your biggest expense so if you can cut that substantially without losing computing power, it makes it more...

Are we at pretty much the max needed for high end graphics cards in 2013/2014?

That's all those cheap laptops and tablets doing that. I can't actually remember the last time I saw a 1366x768 monitor for sale anywhere. Heck, I can't even remember the last time I saw a 1440x900 or 1680x1050 monitor for sale anywhere. Most desktop PC monitors I see for sale are 1920x1080 or...

    MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming 6 GB

It seems the 6gb is of no benefit at all, at least in the resolutions that the vast majority of gamers play at. If you play with 3-1280p monitors, then it might be of some benefit but for the rest of us who don't, it's a waste of money when there are better cards for less that you can use on a...

    Asus hd4850

I bought a OEM HD4850 a few years back and it worked for only about two weeks before it started showing green pixels scattered all over the screen. Fortunately, I was able to get my money back on it and put the money towards a HD6870. Are you able to return this one, because it sounds to me like...

[EU] NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650 1gb-69.99

If retailers keep dropping prices on GTX650 it's pretty much going to kill the resale value of the OEM GT640 GDDR5 on ebay. If you have the OEM GT640 and were thinking of upgrading your video, do it now before the resale value of your old video card drops to the point where it's not worth paying...

    Club3D HD 7850 Royal Queen 1 GB

I don't know where you're getting your pricing from, but I can't find this card for much less than 220 pounds in the UK or 245 Euros in Europe and those prices are a long way from $195 US. They are closer to $340 US and for that price there are faster cards available.

    PowerColor HD 7850 PCS+ 2 GB

I don't consider this card to be a good value at all. I've shopped this and the 1ghz HD7870 and I've found HD7870's for sale for as little as $10 more. The only way you take this card over a stock HD7870 is if you are more concerned about power consumption than gaming performance. If those few...

    AMD Radeon HD 7850 & HD 7870 2 GB

HD7850 performs phenomenally in comparison to the HD6950 and HD6970 in most of the tests but it falls flat on it's face in the Dragon Age II test. What is it about that particular game that the HD7850 struggles so hard with?

HIS Radeon HD 7750 iCooler 1 GB

That technology only detects bus errors, it does not detect errors that are generated within the memory chips themselves or the memory controller, so if by overclocking you cause the memory chips or the memory controller to overheat and malfunction resulting in artifacts, they will still be sent...

HIS Radeon HD 7750 iCooler 1 GB

When you consider that the HD7750 is meant to replace the HD6670 in the no-external-power-required segment, the performance is absolutely amazing. nVidia is going to be hard pressed to match the performance and still keep the power draw within the limits of the PCIe slot. Casual gamers, OEMs...

HIS Unveils the Radeon HD 6930 IceQ X Graphics Card

What you people are failing to see is that releasing the HD5830 was the only choice that AMD had at the time. AMD had faulty HD5800 cores that weren't up to HD5850 specs so they either had to release them on a card or discard them. For some people, HD5830 was still a good choice because it was...

    Radeon HD 7950 Specifications Leaked

It won't. 7970 is going to be far more complex than 6970 so it will be a lot faster. It will also have more memory. 7870 is going to be a die shrink of 6970 and have the same number of stream processors and ROPs.
