ASML to Deliver 35 EUV Systems in 2020

China needs resources, equipments and technologies. And technology cost is incomparable with equipment cost. Buy the original machine, disassemble, reproduce all parts, test every spare part/module with the original machine, assemble replica. Everybody do this, but China has the best conditions...

ASML to Deliver 35 EUV Systems in 2020

Everyone copies if they can. Accordingly, Dutch ASML should not supply EUV equipment to anywhere except trusted firms in the Netherlands. In reality, the only reason they didn't go to China (excluding Taiwan) is because of the poisonous US policy and the lack of protection from the European Union.

AMD Radeon RX 5500 Gets Benchmarked

I think that is completely incorrect comparison: FullHD OpenGL RX 5500 vs 2K DX11 RX 5700 XT. Manhattan FullHD OpenGL: 1. RX 5500 median is 5020 Frames (81.0 Fps). Best score is 5430 Frames (87.6 Fps). 2. RX 5700 XT median is 18818 Frames (303.5 Fps). Best score is 24956 Frames (402.5 Fps)...

AMD Radeon 19.7.3 Drivers Increase RX 5700 Series Idle Fan Speeds by Over 50%

Maybe it's not fan speed logic bug. Screenshot shows that PCIe link doesn't drop freqs. It's power saving feature. More power, more heat, more speed.

AMD X570 Puts Out Up To Twelve SATA 6G Ports and Sixteen PCIe Gen 4 Lanes

The 3rd generation Ryzen "Matisse" processor puts out 24 PCIe gen 4.0 lanes. Add this to the 16 PCIe gen 4.0 lanes from the X570 chipset, and you arrive at 44 lanes. 24 + 16 = 44 Yeah! but wait!

No AMD Radeon "Navi" Before October: Report

GCN 1...5 are marketing names. Number bumps sporadically. GCN3=GCN4. Despite lithography update, Tonga and Polaris have identical ISA (GCN1.2) and uArch (GFX8 vs GFX8.1)

No AMD Radeon "Navi" Before October: Report

Even after link to the wiki GCN page many peoples do not understand difference between ISA and uArch. GCN is ISA (instruction set architecture). GCN1.0, 1.1, 1.2... or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... And there is no reason to kill it. The times of revolutionary changes here are over. GFX is uArch...

GIGABYTE Readies a Pair of Aorus Branded AMD B450 Motherboards

Obviously "B450 Aorus M" has 4+3 phases and one of CPU phases has no heatsink. CPU: 4x (1xHi 2xLo 2xCoil). Energy efficient design doubles low mosfet and coil count to minimize resistance and loses. SOC: 3x (1xHi 1xLo 1xCoil)

    AMD Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz

This scenario is irrelevant. Is there any software that uses x87 instruction (x32 version heavily uses floating point and works on non-SSE2 hardware)? Is it popular? All performance critical x32 software had migrated to SSE2 or x64. x64 uses SSE2 by default and moves to AVX. 1. Why not...

    AMD Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz

Oh, no. One more site had used super pi as performance meter. super pi is a very old application that uses deprecated x87 instructions and it was compiled by ancient borland compiler. Especially funny that single threaded energy efficiency chart is based on super pi results.

AMD to Build "Zen 2" and "Zen 3" Processors on 7 nm Process: CTO

AMD is in no mood to stick to the 14 nm process for as long as AMD has 32-28nm (building five x86 CPU micro-architectures on it: K10 (LLano), Bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller, Excavator or 5.5 years).
