With Summit, US Regains Leadership from China in TOP500 Supercomputers Listing

Supercomputers usually run on a UNIX distro.

Ah. Makes sense. Liquid helium cooling?

With Summit, US Regains Leadership from China in TOP500 Supercomputers Listing

[citation needed] sorry, but no single chip could possibly use 25 Megawatts (or, more power than both the Titan and Summit supercomputers combined). If you put 25 megawatts through a single microchip (let's say 1 square inch in size), no amount of cooling in the world could prevent that from...

With Summit, US Regains Leadership from China in TOP500 Supercomputers Listing

More importantly, will it run Crysis? The US government mainly uses the Titan (and now the Summit) for simulating nuclear decay in stockpiled nuclear weapons and the decay of used fuel from reactors. Probably also Signal Intelligence and Cryptogrophy work, but that kind of stuff is...

EVGA Introduces New and Innovative Products at CES 2016

I do like the case but the claim "First PC Gaming Case Designed for GPU Cooling" is crap. Both Lian-Li and Silverstone have sold cases in the past with an unobstructed airflow path between the intake fans and the PCI slots. That being said, if the case comes in under $200, it'll be at the top...

Creative Unleashes The X-Fi Sonic Carrier

wait, $5000 for a sound bar?!?!?! You could build an actual 7.1 surround sound system that could blow that out of the water for that much money.

Thermalright Intros Le Grande Macho CPU Cooler

i've had a Macho hung on the vertical on my mobo for 3 years now. No warping, cracking or loss of contact with the CPU. Not really a problem. Still the best cooler you can buy for less than $80.

Jonsbo Announces the UMX3 Micro-ATX Chassis

Looks good. Like full window side panel. But, does look just like the cases Rosewill has been selling on Newegg for a while. Probably the same OEM.

    PowerColor Launches Radeon R9 390 X2 Devil13 Dual-GPU Graphics Card

Huh, they must have been trying to clear inventory, and have since jacked the prices back up as supplies started to dwindle.

    PowerColor Launches Radeon R9 390 X2 Devil13 Dual-GPU Graphics Card

They were about that price on Newegg about a month ago. If you search around enough, you should be able to find one in the $650 to $750 range.

    PowerColor Launches Radeon R9 390 X2 Devil13 Dual-GPU Graphics Card

Previous Devil 13 (290X X2, so basically the same card as this new Devil 13, only with 8GB instead of 16GB) was $1500. So if it is the same price, it'll be kind of the opposite of a good deal, especially considering a 295X2 can be found for $650

    PowerColor Launches Radeon R9 390 X2 Devil13 Dual-GPU Graphics Card

Just find the benches for the previous 290X Devil 13 card. On anything below 4K (2X 4GB as apposed to 2X 8GB on the new card) they should be about the same, seeing as how it's basically the same card. Even looks like it uses the same heatsink and comes with the same free mouse. I assume they...

If it used steel, it wouldn't be a Lian Li case.

really like it. Wish it was $50 cheaper though. :(

Thermaltake Unveils the Core V51 Riing Edition Window Green PC Chassis

    Fair enough. I don't think any of the Lian-Li V series chassis pre-date the 2003 G5 release.

Thermaltake Unveils the Core V51 Riing Edition Window Green PC Chassis

Not satisfied with just copying Fractal and Caselabs, Thermalfake is now copying the Lian-Li V1000

    ASUS Launches X99M-WS Micro-ATX Motherboard

I think i get what you are saying, and the Asus MATX WS board is fine for a SLI setup, but MATX cases only have 4 slots, and i think Asus is assuming that most users aren't going to be running 3-4 way SLI, all water cooled setup (although a 3 way setup would be possible, with a custom loop)...

    ASUS Launches X99M-WS Micro-ATX Motherboard

Based on the other WS boards, you can expect it to be at the top for MATX 2011-3 boards. I'd say $275-300. It'll probably be the most expensive MATX, for any socket, period. It's a Micro ATX board. What do you expect? There is an EATX Asus 2011-3 WS board if you need 8 RAM slots and 4...

    ASUS Launches X99M-WS Micro-ATX Motherboard

Yay, actual heatsinks!!! I'm so tired of the absurd looking, barely functional chunks of metal designed by someone with no actual sense of industrial design surrounding 99% of CPU sockets out there. This design is my ideal for how power circuit cooling should look.

Skylake iGPU Gets Performance Leap, Incremental Upgrade for CPU Performance

I get what you're saying, but knowing modern marketing, they'd probably charge more for the chip with the iGPU disabled.

Skylake iGPU Gets Performance Leap, Incremental Upgrade for CPU Performance

The Steam Hardware survey records your primary display device, so even if your have an iGPU, it will record the discreet GPU that is outputting video. I think the 20% number is accurate. I'm sure there are a lot of people in less developed areas of the world playing LoL, DOTA and CS 1.6 at 720...

Skylake iGPU Gets Performance Leap, Incremental Upgrade for CPU Performance

the i7 Extreme X and K chips are for that. Also, the economies of scale are why they don't make 1151 socketed chips without iGPUs, since they all share the same basic architecture. It doesn't make a lot of sense for Intel to fab a separate chip architecture without an iGPU, when it can just as...
