    NVIDIA G-SYNC now Supports FreeSync/VESA Adaptive-Sync Technology

Thanks Nvidia, for finally coming to your senses. So will any cards that support G-Sync work? What about 700-series cards?

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition 8 GB

A wise man once said: "There are no bad cards, just bad prices." He was right. The RTX 2080. Barely any faster than a 1080 Ti. $100 more. So basically the same performance/price. Thanks Nvidia, but no.

Do you remember your most disappointing video card ever?

Here goes nothing (in the order of appearance): 1. Gainward FX 5200, shockingly bad, came with my first pre-built PC, low-end and based on Nvidia's notorious FX series. Two strikes you're out. 2. Geforce 4 MX-440. Maker unknown. 128-bit. faster than #1 in most cases but lacked vertex shaders...

Unigine Superposition Benchmark - post your results!

    AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6 GHz

Platform issues aside, seems like an amazing CPU and a great architecture to use as baseline for Zen+. 1700X is the one I'd go with if I eventually decide to ditch my 4670K. Good job AMD, not very often we get to say that.

Nvidia Reference Cooler on GTX 900 Series

Absolutely. Despite the high fan speed at default (2650 RPM at 83c) the cooler on Titan-esqe cards is superb.

    AMD Radeon Crimson ReLive Drivers

One hopes this gives Nvidia incentive to get off their ass and do something to that control panel from 2008 that still use XP icons. De-restricting GFE would be nice, too.

Nvidia Reference Cooler on GTX 900 Series

Signed in to caution against reapplying the TIM or even lifting up the backplate, to my knowledge the reference coolers on Nvidia cards have very well applied TIm and high quality material, not your average white blob. Also the thermal pads of VRMs or memory chips could get damaged. You can just...

    Force 2D clocks

You can force UVD clocks by playing an H.264 video but other than that you can limit FPS low enough for your GPU to not jump to higher boost states.

The horrors of fixing lga sockets

I feel your pain. I had something similar happen to my Z97 Pro4 but wasn't as big a deal and ended up doing a socket swap for a small fee. Responsible warranty providers would change the socket for you for a fee, might wanna give them a call.

AMD Radeon RX 480 8 GB

Oh, they DESERVE to fail? 200$ gets yolu at least 970/290 performance. Power consumption is a bit high but nothing that every power supply in every gaming system ever can't handle. Cooler is a bit disappointing but that's what tne AIB cards are for. I know some people like having their head...

AMD Radeon RX 480 8 GB

"Made in Globalfoundries, USA." Well, that's a first. This might be my next cadd, but due to lack of DVI and the crappy cooler gonna wait for AIB cards or the GTX 1060.

Rat peed on video card, is it possible to fix?

If there are holes big enough in a case for a rat to slip in and pee on the f'ing video card, you're doing it wrong.

Crimson Software 16.2.1 for HD5000/6000 series GPUs

Hey guys. For those of you who might have missed it AMD has also released a version of the 16.2.1 Crimson drivers for folks with older HD5000 and HD6000 GPUs. This is kind of a surprising move considering AMD officially ceased driver support for these cards at first Crimson release. Anyway. If...

    Underclocking 4790K

I got a 4690K which is the same chip as your 4790K except 2megs of cache gimped and HT disabled, and this is the voltage I see after I've dropped it at the same frequency by 100 millivolts:

EVGA GTX 680 2 gig OC issue

60 Celsius is perfectly normal for a 680. I haven't played iRacing if I'm honest, but perhaps a single GTX 680 isn't up to the task of running that game at 3840x1080?

EVGA GTX 680 2 gig OC issue

Like they said, run a few games for a while (around 30 minutes in my case is enough to bring any instability to surface) and keep pushing the core and memory clocks (core clock is where the most perf boost is gonna be), and keep an eye on the GPU temperature. Turn up the fan speed if you see...

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Achieves 14nm FinFET Technology Success for Next-Gen AMD Product

Let's hope they deliver. I would so build an all AMD rig if and only if they come within spitting distance of Intel. But servers are the bread and butter of CPU makers like Intel and AMD (and apparently even Qualcomm), so what AMD really needs to boost money flow is some nice design sins in...

How to stop Win10 updating graphic driver!?

I didn't read through all the posts, but if someone didn't post it: Get the windows update hide utility: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 You can hide and unhide specific updates with thing, it takes a bit to detect and hide the drivers, but it works for me. I use it to hide Nvidia...

AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition Detailed

I dunno... I've used both Nvidia and AMD cards and in my worthless opinion the CCC is much better since the 2011 revision. It launches pretty quickly off an ssd and is much easier to use, for instance the per-app settings page is much snappier than Nvidia's is. Nvidia has faster DX11 drivers and...
