Microsoft Rumored To Release Budget Xbox Series S Console

I'm inclined to agree. I thought consoles were all about offering a simple, hassle-free device for your average Joe to play games on. Having multiple models at different performance levels muddles up the waters a bit. Sure, there were like 9 versions of the PS2, but they were all relatively...

    Error at 2AE9600

Another Ryzen user having issues with Corsair RAM. I'm noticing a pattern. I hate to just parrot what I've heard, but I've seen a number of people on TPU having issues. If you continue to have issues, your options are: 1. Download Ryzen DRAM Calculator and manually plug in suggested values 2...

thermal pad's are still usable ?

Core temp is just a sensor somewhere in the GPU core. It won't tell you anything about RAM or VRM temps.

Well, I don't like the 3 that are damaged... the other 5 look fine.

Sony Launches Playstation Bug Bounty Program

Sounds like they're attempting to pay off those who would discover, and otherwise release, jailbreaking methods.

    Short lived tech

I had an AIW card quite a while ago. I'm not sure what happened to it, but I remember using it to connect a computer to the old tube TV I had at the time. These days, it's far too easy to run a Plex server or something instead, and connect to it with your smart TV/Roku box/Android box.

    Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5... which one should i get?

Cat5e, or even plain cat5 (although most cable is 5e anyway) will be fine for this. Use cat6, or better, 6a, for more "permanent" installations or longer runs, such as through walls, floors and patch panels.

Sony Showcases Two PlayStation 5 Console Versions, Platform-Exclusive Next Generation Games

I believe I've already pointed that out, in the post directly above yours. Admittedly, not from the angle you're coming from, but I do mention that it's not always easy to back up games on console. At least with Playstation, there's always a way. Mod chips, softmods,or jailbreaks that don't...

    PCI-E to PCI Converter card

May I suggest giving the onboard audio an honest try before faffing around with adapters or other audio solutions? Many say it has come a long way since the days of X-Fi's popularity.

Sony Showcases Two PlayStation 5 Console Versions, Platform-Exclusive Next Generation Games

Well, backups are certainly good, but not always possible. At least, not easily. For older console games, it's very easy to at least grab an emulator and find the ISOs. But on original hardware, for PS1 games, fort example, you're fighting the death of optical media and the drive that reads...

Sony Showcases Two PlayStation 5 Console Versions, Platform-Exclusive Next Generation Games

Well, I don't see much wrong with doing away with physical media, at least in part. Take my modded PS2 for example. In that time, almost every console game was entirely loaded from the optical disc. However, with FMCB and a hard drive, I can pop my disc in the drive, install the game, and put...

The Filthy, Rotten, Nasty, Helpdesk-Nightmare picture clubhouse

The only way to safely eradicate them is to take the computer outside during a particularly nasty thunderstorm and catch a tornado with the computer. Now, I do realize there's nothing safe about tornadoes, but this "bunnius dustus maximus" could prove to be even more dangerous, and the tornado...

2700x - snapped pin, ghetto repair and a lapjob!

I'm... kinda surprised I don't see lapping happening more, especially with the strange boosting algorithms AMD is using, where temperature is a large factor. I think delidding happens more often than lapping...

Power Surge Crash when Gaming or Benchmarking.

Gotta side with everyone else picking on the poor Corsair PSU. Strange crashing issues after upgrading like that screams PSU issue. It's not strong enough to power the new stuff. As a rule of thumb, I like anything by Seasonic, FSP, or Silverstone. Of course, it's not always that simple, but...

How about a bunch of 4U rackmount cases full of GPUs and Delta fans in the garage during winter? I'd do this if I ever won the lottery or something... Each one would probably have a... whatever the best Ryzen chip I could get en masse, under whatever cooler I could fit. These wouldn't be my...
