Ethernet Technology Consortium Announces 800 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Specification

A few motherboard already implement multi-gigabit LAN onboard, those being 2.5Gbps and 10Gbps. 10Gbps switches are becoming cheaper and cheaper even commodity ones that have a handful of 10G ports. In my area in Italy it's a miracle we have 200Mbps fiber optic tbh XD we had to wait for a big...

Ryzen Threadripper 3970X Overclocked to 5.75 GHz

I would like to see nudeCNC make a direct die contact waterblock for these beasts... It would help a lot... such a big heat spreader and dies all over the place have to be some sort of a heat trap at some point. Liquid metal would help but still...

    G.Skill Releases 64GB (8GBx8) Memory Kits in DDR4-4300 CL19 & DDR4-4000 CL16

Not saying nobody requires it. Enthusiast don't! I stated that it is needed in particular scenarios... like video editing in 4k and 8k... high end CAD design... 3d modeling... all the ones you said... I have a VMware cluster in office that I built and each host has 128GB of ram and I have 4 of...

    G.Skill Releases 64GB (8GBx8) Memory Kits in DDR4-4300 CL19 & DDR4-4000 CL16

Ok listen fine if you are an enthusiast... the only thing u could do with that much ram is create a ram disk and use it as scratch data or I don't know what... My tower has two 2690v2s in it so 20c and 40t under water I have a quadfire of 7990s and 32GB of 1600mhz of ram... When I'm compiling...

    G.Skill Releases 64GB (8GBx8) Memory Kits in DDR4-4300 CL19 & DDR4-4000 CL16

Most people won't need more then 16GB if you're gaming... If you are in office more then 8 is really not necessary and you should focus on lower latency low capacity kits to produce an endurance machine that is quite snappy... 64GB is only needed if you are doing 4k and above video editing or 3d...

Alleged Leaked Details on Intel Comet Lake-S Platform Require... You Guessed It... A New Platform

So either the LGA 1200 is in reality a 1160 pins socket or there is an error

    Biostar A10N-8800E

EK Water Blocks Releases EK-Annihilator Pro Series CPU Blocks with Side and Top Fittings

I like how you think sir! :) Also that never happened to me that somebody answered me with 10^4 and 10^5 to indicate a quantity XD What do you do for a living I'm generally curious now :D I'm an automation engineer ;)

EK Water Blocks Releases EK-Annihilator Pro Series CPU Blocks with Side and Top Fittings

Of course no, EK doesn't sell full PRO kits let's say, they are way off from the giants that you proposed :) My thing is that EK in general has a very niche market to attend let's say... Anyway assume for one that I wanna make in my small architects office or a small design firm or a small...

EK Water Blocks Releases EK-Annihilator Pro Series CPU Blocks with Side and Top Fittings

Well it's not that simple... I mean sure watercooled servers are a bit odd when you think of it that way but it's actually pretty common in big big datacenters... Asetek sells a purpose built centralized cooler for servers actually if I remember correctly... This product on the other hand is...

AMD 3rd Generation Ryzen Probable SKUs, Specs, Pricing Leaked?

I would just add my thought to this whole deal... Just think of this scenario: Video editing company that works in a small environment and is tired of having computers everywhere to edit potentially 4k/8k footage. With something like this 3990WX (64c/128t) they could have 8VMs running EACH...

cirrus7 Announces Nimbini 2.5 "Bean Canyon" Fanless NUC

So what? make it a bit bigger and job done ;) it says in the article that 28w part runs 12° cooler under load then that stupid intel stock thing... it has the reserves as it is right now plus you can make it bigger and add some more reserve cooling capacity...

cirrus7 Announces Nimbini 2.5 "Bean Canyon" Fanless NUC

Top Three Intel 9th Generation Core Parts Detailed

I was thinking even more high level I mean, 10Gbps NICs, RAID cards, any sort of graphics accelerator like RED rockets or any other more esotheric expansion card like your m.2 raisers etc. take a good chunk of throughput from the PCIe subsystem... it you want a high end GPU to run at full 16x...

In Win Introduces Its A1 Series of Mini-ITX Enclosures

but miniATX, though it does exist as a standard, it makes no sense for a desktop pc... it's 150x150mm footprint so it's a full 20mm narrower and shorter then mini-ITX (170x170mm) so I would assume that they don't even carry a PCI-e connector onboard... Mini-ATX standard Mini-ITX standard

    Samsung Begins Mass-production of 30.72-terabyte PM1643 SSD

RAID 0 is the first thing you DON'T want with something like this in an enterprise environment  Remember RAID 0 is a stripe of data so you loose one -> you loose all ;) It would be cool for somebody like us nerdy tech guys to see a 60+TB ssd array hitting the 4GB/s writing speed mark...

    D-Link Launches New Industrial-Grade DIS-100G and DIS-200G Series Switches

These things are cool! I'm an automation engineer and in our PLC cabinets we normally install a single 19" rack shelf and install one of those ginormous rack mountable switches where we normally use like 4 or 5 tops of the 16 ports plus maybe a fibre up-link. With these there wouldn't be the...

Someone like me for instance would buy this! BIOSTAR Offers Intel Crypto Mining Motherboards - Full ethOS Mining OS Support

To me this board isn't just for crypto mining... plop in a bunch of pcie gigabit or even infiniband network cards, a fresh install of pfSense and make a gargantuan router! XD heck 1x pci-e 3.0 lane is about 950MBytes/s, 10Gbps ethernet is about 1.25GBytes/s... if they only made half pcie sockets...

be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900

I wouldn't consider that to be exact... I mean the reversible motherboard tray was never featured in any of Fractal's products, neither the Qi Charger. Having the modularity to move the motherboard tray in height is totally new to the PC chassis industry, it was never done before, not even by...
