MSI Announces its Radeon R9 270 Gaming Graphics Card

Also. On the 770. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_770_TF_Gaming/4.html - 1 fat pipe, 4 thin. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_770_Lightning/images/cooler2.jpg - looks like 2 fat ones, 3 thin ones? Although, the fat ones don't look as fat as the 770 gaming? That is a...

MSI Announces its Radeon R9 270 Gaming Graphics Card

I don't know if there is a difference between Hawk and Gaming heat sinks tbf. But I know for a fact some of the Gaming heatsinks only have one 10mm pipe, whereas some have two. It's possible there are other slight variations also.

MSI Announces its Radeon R9 270 Gaming Graphics Card

I think it has an extra heatpipe, or possibly it has an extra 'thicker' heat pipe compared to the regular cooler?

    AMD Radeon R9 290X 4 GB

It seems like a great card, really nice when considering the price, so hopefully it will bring the prices down. I wonder what affect applying some Arctic Silver/MX paste might have on the temps? I know it's not ideal, nor should it be acceptable that someone has to do that reach acceptable...

Lenovo Introduces the Miix2 8-inch Bay Trail-Powered Tablet

I don't think they could sell it with a 128gb for 300 and make a profit? Although I generally think these Win 8 devices should come with 64gb as standard, considering the size of the OS. Still, I'm quite excited to see reviews of this, the Venue 8 pro, and Acer W4.

    MSI R9 280X GAMING 3 GB

I've seen uk pricing for the 280x etc via scan. £250 for a MSI gaming (they range from £270-300) for asus DCII/matrix. Kinda high tbh. When 7970ghz ed's operate in the £220-250 range. But understandable, makes no sense to price them the same initially I guess, makes more sense for the 'old...

    Club 3D Launches Radeon R7 260X, 250 and 240 Graphics Cards

I may be being dumb here...but what are the 7-250 and 7-240 cards based on? Club3D's site lists the 7-250 as having 384 stream processes, the 7-240 as 320? Are they new chips?

    MSI R9 280X GAMING 3 GB

I don't get the overheating...I'm kinda shocked. Looking at reviews of all 7970's (particularly the ghz ed/beatly clocked ones), they run in the 70-75 Celsius range usually. That and the fact that coolers like MSI's twin frozr IV seem better than those 1/2 yr old designs...I'm kinda shocked and...

Final Radeon R9 290 Series Specifications Leaked

Could be. Though I suppose only time will tell. A 7990 is already a pretty power hungry beast, judging from the relatively low clock speeds of 290/290x (about 800mhz sans any turbo function I believe), I don't know if some kind of twin 290/290x is out of the question entirely. I suppose...

Final Radeon R9 290 Series Specifications Leaked

R9-290x2 might be a basic solution, afterall the x is already present. But it will be interesting to see what they go with. I'm a little surprised they didn't leave the "x90" spot for a dual gpu option.

ASUS Radeon R9 280X MATRIX Graphics Card Pictured

Ah. I see. Thanks for the info. 1100Boost/6600 seems pretty impressive, would be hard to top that I guess. I'm not sure what to expect from the 280x. Nvidia's re-brand of the 680-770 was able to eek out a bit of extra performance with slightly lighter power consumption, overall having what I...

ASUS Radeon R9 280X MATRIX Graphics Card Pictured

The one I see on the uk site scan is 1050/6600. So, not really sure what if anything will be different with a 1100/6000. :)

    Apple Updates iMac

Although I don't think a dvd drive is absolutely necessary as it once was. It was a bit of a slap in the face considering the 2012 iMac (when it went on a diet) came with a £100 mark-up. I always thought it would've been nice to get a discount on iMacs bundled with a apple super-drive...but I'm...

    Apple Updates iMac

Ah I see. Thanks for the info. I think I might appreciate them giving it more performance rather than going for Iris Pro. In the UK at least, the pricing is up £50 over last year. Which, I guess it could be down to anything, but it kind of sucks considering they're only edging out the 640m in...

    Apple Updates iMac

Apparently the base version is up by £50, and it comes with Iris Pro graphics, which means its running on a i5-4570R. Not really sure why it can't just have a regular graphics card, since Iris Pro performs worse than last years 650m (or was it 640m?), and it's not as if the imac runs on a...

Design Company brinell Introduces Solid State Drive in 7 Materials

They look really nice. But, they'd make more sense as an SSD or hard-drive enclosure? Are they meant to be mobile, or do they actually go inside a pc/laptop where they can't be seen or felt?

PNY Introduces StorEDGE Flash Memory Expansion Module

If I had an ultrabook type device, I'd probably be all up for cheap, easily installed semi-permanent storage so I could keep the main drive free of less important files. But...as the person above me states, the fact that it sticks out so far kind of blows (and it looks dumb/can easily be...

MSI GTX 780 Lightning 3 GB

Nice review. I'm curious though, how much of an improvement is the 'tri frozr' cooler over the new 'twin frozr'? The 780 Gaming is somewhat quieter and cooler (although I know the Lightning has a higher 'stock' clock), for all the 3 fans, and 7? heat pipes, it doesn't seem to have made an...

MSI GeForce GTX 780 Lightning Pictured

I said it looked cheap and plastic, not that it was (for the price I'd hope not). :) Like the above images (thx puddle), the cooler looks really nice, the shroud looks a little 'cheap' in comparison, but it can be down to the photography or rendering style. The glossy highlights on the...

MSI GeForce GTX 780 Lightning Pictured

Hmm. Having another look. I like 690 better than the titan. They look okay, I just think that it's not the prodigal son every reviewer makes it out to be. And you're right, the Twin Frozr is mostly heatsink and fan...but since that's the whole point of a cooler. I think it can add to the...

MSI GeForce GTX 780 Lightning Pictured

With the new/revamped coolers for the 7xx series cards, the Twin Frozr IV has routinely caught my eye. The black & red/yellow colour scheme works well, but its not too ostentatious and the shroud is pretty subtle and shows off the cooler nicely. I guess I'd say it has a high level of 'finesse'...
