    5870 or 5850 or ???

5850 oced has great potential but does not match an oced 5870 (not a 5870 killer! ) nore even an oced 5770 CF...

    5770 a significant upgrade over 4870?

even though 4890 ocing potential is excellent and performs better than a hd5770, i prefer by far my 5770s to my 4890@1000/1200... Not the same power consumption.. And by far better ocing potential for hd5770: up to 1100 quite sufficient for 1680x1050!! :) sapphire V1 stock cooling...lots of...

    5770 a significant upgrade over 4870?

no scaling issue when one know how to adjust one 's rig! Yeah , i' m probably stupid;) And the price does not exceed one single 5850, on the contrary... http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/hardware/grafikkarten/2009/test_ati_radeon_hd_5770_crossfire/14/#abschnitt_crysis_warhead

    5770 a significant upgrade over 4870?

    5770 a significant upgrade over 4870?

good scaling of the 5770 xfire! DIRT2 demo bench dx11. 1680x1050 msaa 8x, every settings to ultra if possible:

    HD5770/HD5750 benchmarks

multi gpu scaling is not optimal with the current drivers, one can afford seeing an hudge improvement with the catalyst 9.12 once the hemlock will be available

you can download it here on techpowerup cause it's the asus bios! (not the sapphire one) http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?page=1&architecture=&manufacturer=&model=HD+5770&interface=&memSize=0 this card only needs 1.15v to hit 1000mhz (the giga needs 1.20v & the asus one 1.225v) my...

    2 non-ref 4770's (Saph/HIS)

my CF is not concerned by any lower clocking card! both work @1000/1100 @1.239v using smartdoctor (asus & connect3d)

    2 non-ref 4770's (Saph/HIS)

good cooler but not that impressive IMO! the reference retail card can hit 1ghz once flashed to asus top bios... those cards with a different pcb will not be compatible with asus voltage tweak...not a good deal hence!

concerning the xfx: not exactly like the ref. cooler: no heatpipe nore ram heatsink http://www.motherboards.org/imageview.html?i=/images/reviews/hardware/1897_p3_11.jpg
