I had this exact problem. Finally figured out if I just unplugged wall power for 15 min and plugged back in,all drives magically re-appeared. Ended up needing an update on mobo bios.

Going to throw this in. Slapped together a Nostalgia system with some 3850's I had. And the board itself ought to fit for nostalgic purposes. I sure miss Abit.

I purchased a set (2x4g) of that DDR 2 off e-bay that says work in "AMD only" boards. I have without any exaggeration tried it in at least 2 and a half dozen different amd boards and have never had a successful post yet. Even if I pre set loose and tolerant timings with working ram. Who knows...
