    Linpack Xtreme Released

Hi I've been seeing some conflicting info on the residuals having to all be the same and so I was wondering if you could provide a link to an article/documentation on why AVX float math isn't always consistent.

    Ballistix Elite DDR4-3600 CL16 4x8GB

These sticks should be top bin Micron rev E. Should try them on looser timings like 19-23-23-40. My 3000 CL15 sticks does 4400 on those timings.

ASUS Unveils the ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha X399 Motherboard

I'm currently more intrested in getting the X299 Rampage 6 Extreme Omega. That has the same VRM as this but I have a 7940X and a 7740X for that board where as I have 0 threadrippers for this one.

EVGA X299 DARK BIOS Update Includes In-BIOS Stress Test and OC Robot

DARK benches around 3900+ with 12-11-11-28-1T. OCF drops mem channels past 3800 CL12 and won't even boot 4000 CL14 for me(which the DARK does easy). I do better on the DARK than with the OCF when it comes to scores also the DARK is IMO much easier to bench with(though that's personal...

EVGA X299 DARK BIOS Update Includes In-BIOS Stress Test and OC Robot

Compared to the X299 OC Formula on Skylake X the DARK does way better on memory overclocking especially on the latest XOC BIOS.

Team Group Announces ASUS TUF Gaming Co-branded T-Force DDR4 Memory

3600 CL19 is probably viable on 4Gb and 8Gb AFR maybe even some Micron ICs. I wouldn't buy these with hopes of B-die.

    Resurrecting an old HD7970?

Check if the card has all it's voltages working. If it doesn't then it's just a matter of fixing a faulty VRM. If the voltages are present but the card doesn't work then there's probably something wrong with the die and any of those issues are generally not repairable(at least not permanently).

some problem about Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut(LM)

the main issue is that conductonaut solidfies if it gets too cold. Though I'm pretty sure you'd have to be bellow 0C for that. If your idle and load temps are good then it's probably fine.

Last I check 1.25V given enough cooling does 1700+ core clock also the HBM loves cold. While burning over 500W of power. I'm almost certainly get one of these to mess with.

MINIX Creator Andrew Tanenbaum Sends Open Letter to Intel Over MINIX Drama

Authorities are still people. They aren't infallible and having a permanent backdoor in a system means that when the backdoor gets discovered everyone is screwed. Whether or not the backdoor is discovered is just a matter of time.

Intel Core i9-7980XE 18-Core CPU @ 6.1 GHz on All Cores, Consumes up to 1000 W

I just shoved 32A down the 3 12V 18AWG lines of a PCIe connector and they maxed out at 50C on the cables and 55C on the PSU connector. A 2 16AWG 8pins should have no issue with 70A peak loads.

EVGA Intros EPOWER V - 12+2 Phase Extreme Power VRM Board

EVGA is charging 250USD for 1 of these. The production volume is non issue. And it is literally impossible to make these less of a pain to use because they are designed to replace the VRM that a GPU already has. Bsaically these are designed to be attached to GPUs with terrible VRMs of their own...

GIGABYTE Aorus Z370 Motherboard Series Pictured

There's the Z270-SOC but it's a 4 DIMM. A really good 4 DIMM but it still can't match the 2 DIMM boards. They also have the Z270N-Gaming 5. MSI Xpower and Mpower boards are sometimes pretty great for LN2 and sometimes they kinda suck. IIRC on Z170 the Xpower was stuck doing 3866 12-11-11-28-1T...
