How to push past 5Ghz on 8700K?

About 9900K look on IHS. SRELS = P0 SRG19 = R0 The Z370 Taichi is a bit underperform with 8/16. My CPU can run Cinebench at 5.3Ghz on APEX XI but not on Taichi. The VRM is massively different (250A current output for Taichi , 960A on APEX XI). However with 8700K 6/12 and 9700K 8/8 it is what the...

How to push past 5Ghz on 8700K?

Assuming 30C ambient temperature with strong custom loop. 9900K is very hard to cool. At 1.4V even with delidding heat become problem. Die lapping or direct die or both needed for further voltage pushing. A good sample of delidded 8700K / 8086K at 1.5V is not temperature limit at all. This is...

    9900K stock vs 5ghz vs 5.2ghz (720p ultra)

Thanks for feedback. I try to find the best balance for this test. At 1080p ultra there are only 4 games that is CPU bottleneck (Cities Skylines , Far Cry 5 , GTA V , Totalwar Warhammer II). Last time I notice something was wrong with my 9700K 5Ghz vs 8700K 5Ghz test. At 1080p ultra 9700K lead...

    9900K stock vs 5ghz vs 5.2ghz (720p ultra)

Test system All test perform at 720p ultra or max settings. i9-9900K @ stock = 4.7Ghz all core boost / 4.3Ghz uncore i9-9900K @ 5Ghz / 5.2Ghz core and 4.7Ghz uncore No AVX offset on all configs. ASRock Z370 Taichi P4.00 2x8GB DDR4-3500 16-18-18-36-2T (dual ranks double side Hynix AFR) best...

    Delidding 1366 CPUs [Soldered]

My 9900K P0 saw around 6-7C dropping in temp after delidded. My friend's 9900KF R0 saw only 2-3C dropping. R0 is a nice improvement over P0. Probably not worth it to delid 9th gen with R0 stepping anymore.

Nvidia dithering registries hack guide. How to deal with color banding AFTER calibration on Nvidia GPU.

Just bought RX 580 today. It doesn't need fancy registries hack. Dithering come automatically AFTER applying ICC profile. Is it possible for @W1zzard to do gradient test on AMD vs Nvidia after calibration ? I am a no name Youtuber and no one probably care. Nvidia may listen to you however.

How many fans do you have on your PC case?

3x Gentle Typhoon AP-15 1850 RPM as front intake (2x on radiator and 1x pure intake). 3x EK Vardar 1850 RPM as top exhaust (all of them on radiator). 2x 120mm stock H440 fans blow over GPU VRM and VRAM. 1x generic 60mm fan blow over motherboard VRM. 1x generic 60mm fan blow over RAM.

GIGABYTE Z390 OC Guide Suggests Intel 9000 Series Processors Will Run Hot Even With Custom Watercooling

That screenshot is not good to follow. P95 new version and probably small FFT ? 191-195A current combined with that temp is extremely dangerous for 9900K. Intel give 193A for maximum current and that is NOT for sustained run. They should use more real world test. P95 26.6 1344K or ASUS realbench...

    PLL PLL termination voltage

If you mean temperature reduce it should be PLL bandwidth (select level) not PLL termination voltage. That is equal to VCCPLL on ASRock. Level 3 equals 1.0v, level 4 equals 1.15 and higher like level 6 is in the neighborhood of 1.4 I play with VCCPLL since i5-6500 @ 5Ghz + ASRock Z170 OC...

NVIDIA Prepares GeForce 436.02 Gamescom Special Graphics Drivers

You know there is banding from gamma adjust when using Nvidia GPU right ? AMD have temporal dithering enable by default for decade and don't suffer from the same fate.
