MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming X Trio

Isn't the xx60 version of this generation supposed to beat the xx80 version of the previous generation? Nvidia said that RTX 3xxx was going to be such a jump over the previous generation????

    Have you got pie today?

It takes a few days to "spool up".

    TPU's WCG/BOINC Team

There are a ton of choices, from what projects to run, how hard (that doesn't work too well IMHO) and when you want your systems to run.

    Have you got pie today?

BTW, if you're reading this and want to start crunching (and for team TPU):

    Have you got pie today?

Okay, actually they made it easy:

    Have you got pie today?

Let's walk through this.. On the BOINC manager, select View and then Advanced View then click on the Projects tab Post a screen shot of that please.

    Bad performance issue - I7 10700F - RTX3070 8GB

Have you "overclocked" your CPU? Most likely, the other scores that you are running up against are OC'd systems. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i7-10700/20.html

    Air Cooler for i7-10700k

Welcome to TPU! Then why pay for a "K"? https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i7-10700/ Other coolers to consider: be quiet! Pure Rock 2 Scythe Fuma 2 You might even want to step up to the 10900K (Newegg)

    Between two Seasonic

That's just nuts(it's way too high). That being said, GPUs are taking more and more power. A GTX 970 peaked at 192 watts. A RTX 3070 peaks at 256 watts. I think this trend will continue, and is why I have moved my standard recommendation for a PSU from 500-550 up to 650-750, but I'd still...

Should I get a fan splitter?

I hate to ask this, but what case do you have?
  17. thebluebumblebee

    10700f and H410m

Did you read: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i7-10700/ You can get so much more out of those processors by using a "Z" motherboard and some fast RAM.

    Replacement Blower type fans?

Welcome to TPU! Here's a company that I know: https://www.arctic.de/en/products/cooling/gpu-cooler/ Edit: Have you tried to lube the fan? Check youtube. In trying to find a replacement fan, did you use the actual P/N from the fan?

    Ryzen 5 3600 95ºC

His case only has an 80 CM mm exhaust fan and then the PSU, a Seasonic M12II-520 EVO, runs on silent mode until 50% load, so it doesn't spin up to help remove the heat either. I've always said that an 80 cm mm fan moves as much air as a sneezing gnat. Seems that I recall that we had someone...

    Ryzen 5 3600 95ºC

That's actually huge. Dropping 8° is huge, especially when all you did was to open the side of the case. You need a better case.

Op has an 80mm exhaust fan, and the PSU.

    FAH TPU Top 100

I don't believe that PCIe lanes matter all that much. Imagine how many lanes he had: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/first-pics-of-6x-gtx-970-f-h-rig.209806/
  23. thebluebumblebee

    Ryzen 5 3600 95ºC

To check whether this is an air flow problem, can you run the same test with the side off of the case and a fan blowing into the case?
  24. thebluebumblebee

    Ryzen 5 3600 95ºC

The Pure Rock 2 from be quiet! will fit your case and is one of the best values out there. The CRYORIG M9i used to be about $20, but their price has more than doubled.

    Ryzen 5 3600 95ºC

You don't need a full size case. Just a case with an actual airflow plan, like the FD Meshify mini C.
