Both LG and Samsung as well as others are focusing a lot more on OLED laptop displays this past quarter, as the cost to produce panels continues to drop. And emiiter chemistry is constantly being worked on. The holy grail is are long life blue emitters. Samsung is rumored to be working on a TV...

That sucks. My Galaxy S7 suffered from burn in after about a year, but it's still quite useable. I've had a Galaxy S9 for over a year now and not a trace. LG and Samsung have continued to improve on OLED lifespan, so hopefully those stories will be a thing of the past.

I suspect they are using a flexible substrate. The iPhone 12 does too, but then they put glass on it as a protector, how ironic. Then again, smartphones are much more likely to get scratched, hence the glass.

Not if you're a conspiracy theory type :laugh: I think the best news is the OLED itself, lighter thinner and unmatched quality. Even if you're still afraid of burn-in. Having the camera closer to the center of the screen would also make video chats more "personal" - you would be looking more...

I retired my case and salvaged all of the fans along with some hardware. Hard to believe it's been 10 years. What a great case it was, just too big and heavy

PCIe lanes aren't shared. If the chipset and board support a certain number of lanes, that's it. Its the lesser of the two. If the CPU supports 16... then you'll get either 1x16 OR 2x8 OR 1x8+2x4. As long as the motherboard supports at least the same. If you have another device using any lanes...
