    Atom/Nvidia-Ion Choppy Video...Need Help

HDMI audio disabled. I had to implement an EDID override to turn off HDMI audio to achieve sharp fonts on the 32" 1080P TV I use as a monitor. The Invidia Control Panel shows the PC display connector as DVI. I think the problem might have something to do with the 256MB dedicated video memory...

Well....... It has 2GB Ram. With only 256MB dedicated to video. With no way (that I know of) to allocate more dedicated video memory.

    Atom/Nvidia-Ion Choppy Video...Need Help

I have another Atom system with Radeon HD4300 video that renders HD video smoothy. So I know the Atom is capable. In this case I think it is the Ion portion that is the bottleneck.

    Atom/Nvidia-Ion Choppy Video...Need Help

This is a fresh windows install only a few days old. Not many programs running. This is a known issue which I think has something to do with the Nvidia Ion video processor not having enough memory at its disposal.

Fuzzy Text - EDID Fix....Need Help

Thanks. Here is a link to the tutorial that I followed. http://files.bortweb.com/how_to_fix_nvidia_blurry_fuzzy_screen_or_text.htm I used "Extron EDID Manager" to extract the EDID data for my monitor. Found here: http://www.extron.com/download/dltrack.aspx?file=EDID_ManagerV1x0.exe&id=38772

Fuzzy Text - EDID Fix....Need Help

I resolved the fuzzy text problem! :toast: The solution was to add two "EDID override flags" to the video install .inf file. Like this: HKR,,OverrideEdidFlags0,%REG_BINARY%,5C,85,80,51,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,7E,01,00 HDMI text is now sharp and clear and things seem stable...

Fuzzy Text - EDID Fix....Need Help

The nature of the problem I am having is that there an "hdmi audio driver glitch" that breaks what is called "Chroma 4:4:4". Which causes the fuzzy fonts. I'm working on a solution by editing registry keys in the installer .inf file for the video driver.

Fuzzy Text - EDID Fix....Need Help

The HDMI cable is not the problem. Had same problem with another computer which has HDMI and DVI out. In that case a DVI-HDMI cable solved the fuzzy fonts (DVI strips out the audio). This computer has only HDMI and VGA. So it's either figure out an HDMI fix or resort to VGA.
