Did you read the part where you can enable it to install anygame in your library? compatibility just is not tested by valve. There will be games that do not work or have small issues.

Windows games natively on Steam Linux through Proton (Wine)

You can install any game, only the whitelisted games have been tested by valve. There is an option in the steam play settings to enable for all games. DX10 games my still not be ready at this point. I am currently downloading Skyrim Special Edition. Also of note, the games I have tried have...

How long are you getting from your PSU?

I have an Antec TruePower 430 Watt from 2003. Still works, but I have had to replace a few capacitors. Its hard to find a new power supply that has a good 5V rail needed by those old computers. Power my Athlon 64 3200+ + Radeon X800 Pro

AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition Overview

The opensourcing of the vulkan driver was not needed for games like F1 2017 ,they already work fine on the opensource RADV driver. Just a note. Also, the AMD driver will not be included with the default opensource driver stack, mesa and has to compiled or packaged separately.

    Soundblaster Z support?

I am familiar with Kubuntu, KDE neon gets the newest version of KDE Plasma in a rolling release manor (not the base system, just Plasma and QT), so it is typically at a newer version. Kubuntu is unlikely to do a Plasma update till the next release. The ubuntu periodic releases is not considered...

    Soundblaster Z support?

Kubuntu just uses older versions of Plasma and QT, other than that they both use an ubuntu base, however neon uses Ubuntu LTS (currently 16.04). I stick to rolling release because I need newer kernels and mesa (amd open source drivers, which are quite amazing now). Currently I am using solus a...

    Soundblaster Z support?

If you like Kubuntu (when I tried it 3 years ago it was unstable and bloated) then you really should be using KDE Neon, it is ubuntu base but is maintained by KDE developors and has the newest KDE Plasma packages. It would be the best experience for KDE Plasma. https://neon.kde.org/

F1 2017 Makes Official Comeback to Linux on November 2

World at War worked fine. I did not try newer than that as running steam in wine can often time have issues.

F1 2017 Makes Official Comeback to Linux on November 2

Apparently Quake Champions is based on DX11 so results may not be great. However the new Unreal Tournament works on Linux natively. I have beating all 3 STALKER games, MoH: Airborne, Playing through the first witcher, and palyed CoD4 Multiplayer all on wine and have not had any issue with mouse...

If it is like Doom, it will likely run great in wine.

F1 2017 Makes Official Comeback to Linux on November 2

Vulkan only. I am certain the Windows version is DX11. Feral has been working on a vulkan wrapper for DX11, first used with Mad Max. No vulkan support on Windows, unfortunately.

    Soundblaster Z support?

You need to find another sound card. Unless you want to write a functioning driver. I wasted many days trying to make this work. Realtek, CMedia (ASUS Xonar) and Via codec work fine.

    Soundblaster Z support?

Soundblaster Z doesn't completely work in linux. I have heard it may in a 32bit OS. I may have gotten optical to work on mine at one point. Best to avoid creative all together for linux. Best solution, get a USB DAC. I ordered me the Schiit Stack and love it. DAC with Seperate headphone amp that...

How to play full screen in Linux under Wine? -- SOLVED

I would also open winecfg (you caa run form terminal or probably launch it from the ubuntu menu) and make sure "emulate a virtual desktop" is not enabled. It is under the graphics tab. I also recommend padoka stable, which uses the current stable branch of mesa, as git tends to have regressions...

I'm glad the days of the sticker art on video cards has passed, especially when it had some unknown character on it.

AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB

What video card do you have, I know some 390's have issues. My 480's have not exhibited any of those issues and Borderlands 2 greatly benefits from mesa_glthread=true in the steam launch options for the game, i stay around 70 - 100+ with this option. I know the driver still needs some progress...

AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB

Why are you trying to use to proprietary driver? The OpenSource driver is faster in everything except Vulkan.

    Good bye fglrx, Hello AMDGPU-PRO!

Curious, the radeon kernel driver is what you are referencing? AMDGPU is very nice, I sold my 290 to get a 480 just for better opensource driver support. Pretty amazing so far.

    What happened to ABIT?

They had financial trouble, got bought out by another company and were shutdown. I always loved my Abit boards, still happily own my Abit NF7-S.
