Xbox Outsells PlayStation in the US by $200 million in June, Sets Hardware Sales Record

Most likely. Over here I've never seen an actual PS5 for sale/in stock while both Xboxes have only been out of stock twice*, and very briefly, as far as I can tell (* X is actually out of stock right now).

ASUS TUF Gaming Introduces the VG32AQL1A Monitor: 32" Fast IPS, QHD, 170 Hz, DisplayHDR 400

That's a pretty standard value for an IPS panel. The weakness is the size, imo. It can kinda go lower than 48fps, it just doubles the frames. On freesync it's called LFC (Low Frame Compensation), no clue if NVIDIA has a name for it, but they do it as well.

RIP Assassin's Creed. You had a good run.

    What are you playing?

I finished Dragon Quest XI a couple weeks ago and that really scratched my JRPG itch. Really good game. I hope SE ports DQ XIII to the PC as well, since I never got around to finishing that one. Today I finished Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and that was better than I expected. I was a little...

Uncharted 4 Is Coming To PC

This is great news for PC gamers. A bit of shame they're starting with the 4th game rather than the 1st though.

    What are you playing?

Started Dragon Quest XI's 3rd chapter last weekend. Really enjoying the game so far, in part thanks to the sped up battles. I don't think I could bear to play at normal speed now. AC2 and China were offered for free at some point, AC3 you may have gotten with the Odyssey DLC if it's the...

Epic Games Store: hundreds of millions of dollars in losses per year

True, UPlay is pretty solid these days. I have all my AC collection and a few others on there. And yeah, the ability to turn achievements into actual game discounts is very nice. But it's (mostly/completely?) a publisher store so the catalog is very shallow.

Epic Games Store: hundreds of millions of dollars in losses per year

I hope Epic meets their profitability goal. They're still missing a couple important features for me personally, but they're coming. Steam needs the competition and Epic does still pay more to publishers.

Is the 1080 Ti making a silent comeback?

Even if it did come out, it'd probably come out more expensive than it originally sold for. 2021 is so sad that for the price I paid for my RX 480 in 2016 I can now get something that is much.. weaker.

AMD to Supply Only a Few Thousand Radeon RX 6700 XT GPUs for Europe at Launch

Yes, the reduced production is apparent, I'm not disputing that. Just that the reasons why haven't been made crystal clear. At least not to me. I guess I'll just internalize it's many things. For example, does your dad know exactly why he can't get a tractor right now? A specific component...

AMD to Supply Only a Few Thousand Radeon RX 6700 XT GPUs for Europe at Launch

I must have missed it then. What is it? TSMC overbooked? How is that affecting nvidia?

AMD to Supply Only a Few Thousand Radeon RX 6700 XT GPUs for Europe at Launch

And why can't/won't anyone explain what's causing it? Is TSMC stretched too thin? But then aren't nvidia chips being produced by Samsung? Is there a raw materials shortage? Aren't they producing to full capacity because of covid? Can't they export all the parts because of covid? All they parrot...

MSI Promotes Their RTX 3080 GE76 Raider Laptop For Cryptocurrency Mining

Don't think for a second any other company is different. Ultimately their goal is to sell as much of their products as they can, doesn't really matter to whom. The only difference is that MSI's marketing team wasn't "smart" enough to keep it out of the public eye, which would obviously anger a...

    What are you playing?

Finished the Dragon Quest XI demo last weekend after almost 10 hours. Definitely the longest demo I've ever played. On to the full thing now and it's pretty good so far. One of my biggest gaming regrets is not finishing DQ VIII when I played it on the PS2. Discount coupled with regional pricing.

Nicehash Ad on TPU main site

I never said it was a total waste of energy, I said it wasted vast amounts of energy. In hindsight it was poorly worded and I should've said something like highly inefficient instead. My bad.

Nicehash Ad on TPU main site

That's not a great argument. Because everything uses power to make it doesn't matter how much of it we use? I mean, you could totally view benchmarking and gaming as a waste of energy (or time). But they're on entirely different scales. Not to mention, as more coins are mined, transactions get...

Nicehash Ad on TPU main site

Hello. :) I am aware most miners make money, that was not my point. What I meant is that crypto mining uses enormous amounts of energy. And when I mean enormous, I mean if crypto mining was a country, it'd be in the top 30 of annual energy consumption. And rising rapidly. Now let that sink in.

Nicehash Ad on TPU main site

One could argue that mining is also morally reprehensible, when you look at the vast amounts of energy wasted in the process and when you consider the origin of said wasted energy.

    What are you playing?

Yeah, the site author also says Origins comes first but still recommended to play I and II first but doesn't really explain why. In hindsight I think I would've played it first. But what's done is done. I still have some time to decide which Ys I'll play next because right now I think I'll have...
