Thank you! I will look into this in detail after work, was hoping for a quick easy answer.

How to get rid of shell prompt item?

I tried it and I have nothing there referencing ATI.

How to get rid of shell prompt item?

When you right click on any folder you get this annoying Catalyst Control Center thing, how do I get rid of that? I don't see the option in their Control Center driver options or I am totally missing it. Hopefully I don't have to resort to registry hacking, right?

    xfire sli mobo

I think I read somewhere that ATI is\was working on opening this up to all chipsets. I think it is in their best interests. I can't remember the name of the article to google, will ask my friend what it was. Might have been killed from the merger too... I ran dual 7800GT's on a ULI chipset...

Nvidia hacked for SLI drivers are pretty old versions too, so I wouldn't go shopping with this in mind.

    Valve Repaints the Black Box

This blows, I bought HL2 and EP1 all separately. All activated on steam too, so I can't sell them now? What is the point of episodic content if you have to by the whole thing every time?

acer x221w display can do 1920x1080 High Def Resolution

True, it won't hurt a thing. BUT It should look sharpest at the LCD panel's native resolution. Some monitors will scale better than others as well. Some people don't like sharp though, case in point all the people that like truetype. I personally don't like truetype because it is fuzzy, but if...

acer x221w display can do 1920x1080 High Def Resolution

The monitor is scaling. Most monitors do this for lower than native resolutions too so you can see the BIOS when you boot up.

Switches on the back of x1950xtx?

Anyone know what this switch does? There is two switches in one package and stock they are both off. Just noticed in the "MSI HD 2900XT Poses Nude" news article that card has a switch that looks exactly like what I have on the back of my card, just in a different location...

    MSI HD 2900XT Poses Nude

Yes, it appears that the area around where the thermal paste shown is machined out so the shim on the GPU can fit in there.

    x1950xtx availability

Yes it was to understand my decisions. I am sure there are many that didn't have the problems I encountered for the past year and are very happy with their nvidia product but that was not the case with me as I spent my time researching HID and USB drivers for Nvidia chipsets and then later on...

    x1950xtx availability

Yes, but I think AMD needed them. I have felt that one of AMD's major problems is they don't make chipsets anymore so with ATI they brought chipsets back home and hopefully really run with it. See your point on the graphics side though, I hope they don't ditch Intel Crossfire support!

    x1950xtx availability

Or if you are like me and feeling like you got completely F'd over by nvidia on your last computer system there is no way I would consider them for a year or two. Point 1 - I have a KVM here and for some reason it doesn't work with any nvidia chipset motherboard. Works fine in dos but when you...

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

I thought the Core 2 Duo's were rather more efficient and blow away the P4 Prescot levels of power consumption? I was thinking this C2D E6600 was on par with the AMD 3700+, maybe a little more but not that bad. Yes this PSU has four 12V rails: http://www.seasonicusa.com/s12plus.htm

Wow Eric, why the heck didn't I think of that. Thanks I do believe I will do that.

    x1950xtx availability

Anyone know the scoop on the x1950xtx availability and why it can't seem to be bought anywhere? Are we really close to R600 being released and they have stopped production on the R580+ or something?

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

Old power supply? This is a one month old Seasonic S12-550 which is SLI certified. I was running two 7800GT's in SLI with this power supply under a AMD 3700+ system before I moved to this system. This is also listed on ATI's page for Crossfire, which I am not using. This is a rather simple...

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

Although it is much more reliable at stock speeds it sometimes starts with no video and POST fail beeps. I got two blue screens today too going into or coming out of games as well. Crap, I really wanted to like this card, it's pretty quick.

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

I spoke too soon anyway, sorry. That little overvolt didn't change anything but it looked good for an hours worth of restarts. I removed the overclock completely now and I am testing again more throughly than that first time. So far so good but I don't want to speak to soon again.

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

Ah, on a hunch I upped the volts to the PCIE to +.15 and the FSB to +.1. I can't get it to post with no video anymore so I guess it's fixed. I think it was the FSB that did the trick.

Frogger, yes I uninstalled them and I did a driver cleaner session. You guys are fast, thanks.

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

Dr Death: I have the latest F9 BIOS for the motherboard, there is nothing later. JrRacinFan: Thanks about the .NET framework, I forgot about that. Has to be my problem. My PSU is a Seasonic S12-550, I sincerely hope its not that. I have the PCIE bus locked to 100 in the BIOS, is there...

New video card doesn't like CPU OC

Oh is there anywhere to download updated BIOS's for the X1950XTX? It looks like there are a lot here but none for that card. As a side note I am trying to run the ATI 7.4 drivers and they are bombing out in XP Pro 32 bit pretty hard with MOM.exe and CLI.exe errors. Using the DD CCC WDM driver...
