HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

It works like a dream on Windows Server 2012. :D Exciting. I can game on it now.

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

Thank you for the update. I will try the new .96 version on server 2012 as well. I will run the upgrade tonight for this.

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

@anatolymik is there any work being done on being able to expose the VT-X/D or AMD equivalent in hypersli while in hardware mode? I do some gaming on my system but I also run VMware Workstation with some x64 bit linux and mac guests which is what requires the flag it seems. Right now the only...

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

I know the running advice is to use the release preview. But there are notable bugs with it that prevent me from using it as a daily driver. I appreciate the advice but I will wait until the issue is resolved. This is likley due to the new secure boot option OR a kernel version change of some...

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

I actually got the same thing for both Windows 8 RTM and Windows 2012. I imagine its something to be updated for the new kernel?

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

The release preview wont get updates. I will stick with 2008R2 for now until it just works. With RTM for both server 2012 and win8 out Id rather just wait until it is working. I prefer to run server OSes for my workloads as it works great for gaming AND for the workloads I also run on top of it.

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

Downgraded back to 2008r2. The loss of SLI and there are a number of crashes on my system despite really low temps on the system that were not there. Not having SLI is a real dealbreaker for me to use 2012 for now. I was concerned heat was the issue but my video card temps are as low as they...

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

Well nothing I have tried worked. I assume as this is a new kernel and all that it will be some time before an update is released.

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

No dice. Disabling driver signing did not do the trick. I guess this goes alot deeper than just a simple hack. I assume the kernel has been changed in a way that the app needs to be updated to? I tried and got a 0x00000100 error on boot. Regular boot option still works. I will try again and post...

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

I tried version 0.9 on Windows 8RTM and Windows Server 2012 Standard with no success. I get errors when booting up into that option. I assume this has to do with the secure boot option? I havent done much checking but will need to. Is there a HyperSLI in the works for Win8/2012? I assume this...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

The info you guys have posted have really sent things rolling. I am doing some research into where this would happen. I am in the middle of a move now so it might be a couple of weeks before I even get the chance to actually test anything. I will be test this with a 790 chipset I got. That will...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

@zerg Please write a guide. It will save everyone the time. Maybe over time this can be scripted to be simplified.

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Right but the point is the certfication or the so called "cookie" has been found and could be implemented on ANY board anywhere with the right tools. I am going to try this on one of my older non-sli boards I am not using. I will post an update once I have it working. If it works I can post a...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

The general idea is that you can edit your BIOS to add this in. I would save the page just in case it goes down. Still this is great. I like nvidia cards, but hate their chipsets.

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

HA Here is an update. Via what should be called a penecillin hack :P It was discovered by accident. http://netkas.org/?p=91 This is a hacker for the Hackintosh scene. But he was working specifically on a hack for EFI and DSTD to enable a Mac Retail CD to boot unmodified and found out how the...

    Modded SLI Forceware

There are ways to trick the drivers into thinking it is running another BIOS. This was done for Vista SLIC I believe is what was done as well as for Mac OSX on off the shelf PCs (aka Hackint0sh). This could be possible if a driver or some kind of kernel hook was made. I am not super knowledgable...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Yea that was my point. To do a comparison. It should be MUCH easier to do a code comparison. I may wait till next payday and pick up an X58 setup to test out this theory. BIOS hacks of any kind almost seem more trouble than their worth BUT seeing how it worked so well at between the BIOS and OS...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Hmm shame. I am guessing once the x58 support is released it might be a little easier to hack? It would seem so since there will be setups in the wild that will be easy to compare against.

    Modded SLI Forceware

If you need a tester let me know. I would be happy to try this out. I have 4 8800GTs with a 790FX board with 4PCI-E Slots running. Theoretically SLI x4 could work since they are already doing this with the GX2 cards. Basically 2x GPUs per PCI-e slot. Only thing is I am running Vista x64. So if...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

I know this thread is a bit dated, But is there any progress on this? Or is the attempt being abandoned until a cracker decrypts the routine? Apparently ASUS and certain other partners have unlocked versions of these drivers. So there has to be something that makes it possible at the driver...
