Thoughts/Evidence on H20 Cooling Performance Increase with TWO Pumps

From my understanding of flow versus head pressure, a second pump really benefits a larger loop with more restriction in the loop (ie. a lot of 90° fittings and restrictive blocks). I could be wrong here, but the D5 has great flow and good head pressure while the DDC has the good flow and more...

My first attempt @ a custom case

I have decided it is time for me to make a custom case for myself. I wanted to get some feedback from you all on my design and layout of WC parts. I just recently upgraded my Core2 system to an i7 setup and for now am running everything in a lian-li v1000 plus II case with a single 120 loop for...

    Finding a 5850/5870/5970 - not easy!

Some of the cards on the egg are starting to come back down. Just today the Asus 5870 has made it's way back down to $409 and was in stock.

New Gaming PC for xmas but note sure which route to take

Chaos is pretty dead on. It should be around the performance of the 5970. What motherboard are you looking to switch to?

New Gaming PC for xmas but note sure which route to take

Go for them. I would suggest seeing if you can find the sapphire Vapor-x model or at least a non-reference cooler 5770. Better temps and it won't sound like a leaf blower.

New Gaming PC for xmas but note sure which route to take

I second this statement. Go for the 5850 if you can find it. If not, a pair of 5770s will do you good.

    New PC advise i7 860 or i7 920

I couldn't agree more. The fact that there was such a small price difference allowed me to go for more of the want versus the need. As for the future upgrade, that is at least 3 years down the road, and I will probably go for a whole new platform.:ohwell: But, the biggest performance...

    New PC advise i7 860 or i7 920

This seems to be a hot topic as of late. I myself just went through the same decision process. I debated the x58 + 920 vs. the p55 + 860 for over a month. I choose the x58 + 920 for the fact that I plan to do Crossfire/SLI and may opt for i9 "gulftown" as an upgrade. In all of my configurations...

New Gaming PC for xmas but note sure which route to take

It does have a software overclocking tool, but it also has simple BIOS overclocking options as well. It is a great motherboard for the money and has been getting a lot of great reviews. Like phanbuey stated, the softwares for overclocking motherboards are not that great. And TheMailMan78 is...

New Gaming PC for xmas but note sure which route to take

My suggestion is like most here, go for a 5850. You will see bigger gains in games here more so than the i7 860. Did you look at a i7 920 + x58 setup in price comparison to the i7 860 + p55? If you are set on the p55 setup, I would suggest looking at the ASRock p55 boards. They have a good...

MSI Unveils Big Bang Trinergy P55

So, does this board (with the N200 chip) take away the capability to run Crossfire that is inherent in P55? Or, is it implemented to provide the extra PCI-X lanes needed to run Tri-SLI?

    Sapphire HD 5870 Vapor-X Spotted

It does look good. Would be nice if they would use a black PCB and leave the PCI power connectors in the same orientation as on the AMD reference design. This would help with keeping the overall length installed shorter. You wouldn't have to have the extra length of the power plugs and cable in...

Recommendations need for gaming mouse and keyboard.

I have the Saitek Eclipse II and a Death Adder. Both are to my liking. The keys on the eclipse have a very nice response and feel and the Death Adder feels like butter. It has really improved my accuracy and response time.

Crysis doesn't push PC to it's limit?!!?

After seeing a lot of the demo reviews and reading the forums. It seems that the GPU is the biggest limiting factor right now. But in all that reading, I came across this article--> http://www.shacknews.com/featuredarticle.x?id=639 Here is the main thing that stood out to me: "Shack: What...
