    SLI with different cards

Big thank you to every one whom has stayed active and kept this thread alive. This really is a great example of a community driven effort. Please accept a personal apology from me as I have not been involved with this in quite a while now.

Denuvo's Latest Version Resists Piracy's Attempts Entering 2018

Unless trying to avoid having to use online services(Steam, Ubisoft, etc) why would we need executable cracks these days? Games no longer require a CD to play, which is why it was called a "CD" crack. Denuvo and whatever Croteam use are extremely potent and do their job nicely.

    Operation Coffee Lake is Underway

Awesome, well here's hoping the purchase of a new platform is worth it. I am still hanging onto my Sandybridge because let's face it, nearly seven years on and it's still the best CPU out there ;)

Second router in AP only mode, cannot remember/find it's IP address!

Thank you, updated original post to address that option.

Second router in AP only mode, cannot remember/find it's IP address!

My topology is Cable modem > WNDR3700 > RT-N56U > Zyxel switch. The WNDR3700 has it's wireless disabled and the RT-N56U is purely an access point for the wireless internally. I hid the SSID(s) for on the N56U and while I remember the names of them, I have two issues: 1. When attempting to...

Converting analog to digital for bluetooth use

I have a Asus Xonar Xense with AKG K612 cans on Monacor SA-100 (and some other amplifiers). Therefore the setup is soundcard > amplifier > headphones. I was interested in going fully wireless with Bluetooth until it occurred to me that I'd be bypassing the sound card and the amplifier...

Post Creator's update : Slow Windows 10 boot -BAD NETWORK PATH?

EDIT: Solved by reinstall While I used media creation tool to download Win 10 again and simply reinstall over the current system - which has resolved the issue. I did note others had a similar problem and it was something possibly of the following two: The new Windows Defender...

Replacing SSD; another SATA, new board with M.2 or PCI E

That's an excellent little project, however the requirement to always have the USB stick in to boot, is not something that works for me. I may just wait until I upgrade to a motherboard that supports it natively. Thank you though.

Replacing SSD; another SATA, new board with M.2 or PCI E

A little update here. I purchased a Samsung 850 Evo M.2 NVME drive and a M.2 <> PCI E adapter(it's a dual slot, one for M.2 to PCI-E and the other is M.2 to SATA). So far on this MSI Z77 board, it's not showing in BIOS or windows. The board hasn't any M.2 or PCI-E 'boot' features or...

    Lapel vs desktop microphone

I bought that Neweer kit that included the phantom power and some other pieces, then an additional 15cm pop filter and a desk clamp spring arm. It was cheaper than a mini yeti or whatever that ball version is, and I suspect will turn out to a little better. Thanks all

    Lapel vs desktop microphone

@Bill_Bright My comment about phantom power/power source was in regards to condenser type microphones not being loud enough unless powered. It's like an amplifier for headphones that need a lot of power to drive them. Really I want a semi quality hands free microphone solution that will work...

    Lapel vs desktop microphone

Isn't the way to mitigate audible level issues on a desktop microphone, by using phantom power? In terms of wireless microphone with headset, I haven't found any. @Kursah I was aiming at this or something very similar...

    Lapel vs desktop microphone

I'm trying to get back into doing some recordings as well as voice comms for games. I've been using in ear bud headphones for a while, and would prefer not to go back to a standard headset arrangement. I am curious if a half decent desktop condenser microphone, or a lapel microphone would be...

Replacing SSD; another SATA, new board with M.2 or PCI E

There are other factors to consider, such as physical foot print, cabling, redundancy etc. M.2 is a cleaner solution and theoretically faster. I believe in the capacity sizes such as 256/500/1TB prices are not all that much higher for the M.2 variant. I just hope whatever I do, it solves my...

Replacing SSD; another SATA, new board with M.2 or PCI E

Originally I was not ready to invest in a new CPU/Motherboard/DDR4 upgrade, at least until boards started offering M.2 commonly or I felt PCI-E SSD is worth while. I may not need the throughput of PCI-E right now, but I have noticed a lot of 270 generation boards offer at least one if not two...

    Black Desert Online

This game came up in discussion during a guild event in ESO last night. TO which I simply said 'Nice looking, interesting quest mechanics, finally a modern MMO that lets you level up by grinding mobs...' 'but everything do eventually leads to an end game PVP and nothing more' I think that's a...

    Black Desert Online

I was tentative about starting Dark Knight because I'm not a fan of any class with the word "knight" in it, that is any thing but King Fu**ing Arthur! 'Dps' knights are to me dumb. However I would grant an exception for classical RPG Shadow Knights where you're a heavy armor /plate armor type...

anyone else beta testing Elder scrolls online?

Game discounted also now on their official website (so that's the non-steam purchase), to match Steam prices. I suppose this is in advance of the expansion release.

    Yet another SSD possibly dying

Well for the second time, doing a secure erase seems to have saved the day. I was able to install Windows again, let it do an update to the Anniversary edition and then transfer over all the data I offloaded earlier before wiping the disk. I did notice however that three of my USB boot drives...

    Yet another SSD possibly dying

Can you clone it without any errors? If so, I'd do the clone/imaging, secure erase the drive with a proper SSD tool, then put the cloned image back and see if the problem stops (and/or stops for a while). I tried earlier to start a clone on mine and it fails pretty quickly into it and I am not...

anyone else beta testing Elder scrolls online?

Because I can... I am looking to start playing Elder Scrolls Online more regularly now as I have jumped back into it this past few weeks. I would like any TPU or TPU friends to come along for the fun. To start it would be on the EU region servers, however there is no region lock and you are...

    Yet another SSD possibly dying

Thanks all. @FordGT90Concept I did try in another system, though it's an even older one. It didn't see the drive at all, so not conclusive as it could have been the computer or the disk. Which is a shame because I already had to replace my previous Asus board in this machine because the SATA...

    Yet another SSD possibly dying

Noticed some odd hangs and unresponsiveness with my Vertex 4[system SSD(C:\, active\primary)], which would sometimes require a hard reboot. This eventually led to it one day stating that it could not find a Windows boot device. Returning to BIOS showed the drive nor the Windows boot manager...

    What are you playing?

Nice. Ya, Project Cars to it's credit is the best VR racing game I've played - I certainly felt immersed. AI in any racing game is poor. They brake too early or too late, you can't put your trust in them going into the corners and they don't 'drive' like humans. It's some what hard to describe.
