    Which PSU?!

The fractal one fails the hold-up test!! Don't but it if you suffer in your area from power interruptions and inconsistent delivery. About the hold-up test: The hold-up test "is the amount of time the system can continue to run without shutting down or rebooting during a power...

HDMI Forum Releases Version 2.0 of the HDMI Specification

It's not garbage. It's heading in the right direction.

    Avexir Core Series 3100 MHz 2x 4 GB DDR3

Let's just look at the words and ignore the ranking.. The numbers just cause too much hassle... I remember when it was claimed that "this board sucks", and then that very same board got 8.2. There was also a discord then... Just look at the findings and the conclusion, not at the final number.

    Avexir Core Series 3100 MHz 2x 4 GB DDR3

Actually, I agree with Felipe. I think it is more sensible that whoever has the money for this kit should not be working on a mainstream z87 platform at all. You can get a hexacore and quad channel ram for less money.

Intel Rolls Out New Haswell and Ivy Bridge Processors

Where exactly have you read that? If the turbo is still at 3.9ghz, then it is, most likely, still not going to pass 3.7ghz for all cores.

Intel Rolls Out New Haswell and Ivy Bridge Processors

The i7-4771 is the greatest joke I have ever seen. What is the point in releasing the exact same cpu as i7-4770, with additional 100mhz, when i7-4770 can easily get to 3.6ghz or above with turbo boost? And why has there even been a difference in base clock, at stock between i7-4770 and...

    Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H (Intel LGA 1150)

So... instead of getting Tina Turner, we get the Sleeping Beauty this time? LOL Nice review, Dave! As to the last paragraph - actually you do pay for it.. most of the ud3h's features exist on the z87x-d3h board, and you pay additional ~20$ specifically for the OC features, such as the onboard...

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

Since the Haswell silicon itself is the main bottlenecking factor, why not go for a more featured board, from another brand, at a similar price? A board doesn't have to be Asus in order to work properly.

Looking to upgrade my graphics card

Your game seems to favor Nvidia: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6838/nvidia-geforce-gtx-650-ti-boost-review-/4 and it is shader-bound so you want your base/boost clock to be as high as possible. 650ti boost seems to be able to handle 1080p quite well. The card is capable of running the game very...

Looking to upgrade my graphics card

Since both of the cards perform similarily, and the hd7850 comes without games and with only 1 gb of memory, I would grab the Gtx 650 ti boost just for the sake of an additional 1gb of memory. The geforce one also comes with: physx, geforce experience, potentially better drivers and kepler...

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

At this price point, I would personally pick the Gigabyte ga-z87-d3hp. Gigabyte are known to offer more bang for the buck over Asus for their entry/mid range boards. Just look at the back of the board and see how much Gigabyte indulges you in comparison to Asus: Gigabyte: 6 usb 3.0,2 usb 2.0, 2...

Looking to upgrade my graphics card

I don't like these synthetic comparisons. I believe it's best to check the real world results, based on reviews, like in the TPU link I added before. According to this link: http://tpucdn.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_650_Ti_Boost/images/perfrel_1920.gif While both cards offer similar...

Looking to upgrade my graphics card

I think you are confusing between gtx 650 ti and gtx 650 ti boost. It's not the same card. 650 ti boost is not on the chart you added. It's a slightly cut down version of the gtx 660, and it's supposed to be on par with hd 7850. Link...

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

I don't believe this effect of enthusiasm and realization of his hardware's abilities would last long.. Anyway, if video editing is not his job and the main source of his livelihood, there is a limit as to what extent the editing part will grow. This is the reason why I don't think i7 is worth...

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

Couldn't agree more. This is precisely the message I was trying to convey. I think he should upgrade his platform(cpu+mobo+ram) and wait with the gpu upgrade for the time when he actually needs some more graphics power. May I ask why you recommend the i7 over the i5 when it is known that the...

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

But it's not our money - it is his. We can't play with other people's money and offer them overkill parts, just because we like hardware and would have picked them in his place. Mathematically, x60 is the wiser choice, unless you need more. At 1600x900 resolution - you don't.

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

Buying 770 is a mistake. We're talking about a very small resolution here - 1600x900. Gtx 770 is approximately 20% stronger than the gtx 760, while costing significantly more. It is always preferable to buy one x60 and another one down the road, rather than buying one x70 for a slight...

Jetster, it was just your opinion. No reason to apologize :P I had also thought it would be best to sell the monitor and get a balanced rig with a larger monitor, until I found out how attached he is to it.

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

Frag Maniac, your suggestion does make sense-if he intends to oc or ask a friend to do it for him. If no OC is planned, then I would go for the newer platform. The main problem with ivy at the moment, aside from the lack of features compared to HW, is that should he need to RMA a Z77 mobo...

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

A b85 mobo with a non-k i5 cpu should be more than enough for gaming and light editing. Since he seldom edits, I believe 8 gb should be sufficient, and if not, he can always add more. Edit: An integrated gpu is vital for cases when your dedicated gpu fails and you need a temporary solution...

He mentions light video editing. For this, the i7 doesn't worth the extra money.

Got Enough Money To Upgrade Motherboard, CPU & RAM!

I'm not from your country, so I can't give you specific specs, but I can give you some guidelines. Firstly, until you upgrade your monitor, gtx 770 is an overkill. Even gtx 660 is more than enough for your current resolution. If I were you, I would upgrade this monitor. You can change the...

Intel Haswell i5-4670K and i7-4770K Comparison

Hi everyone, I often read the reviews on this site, but I have never thought to register to it. However, the anomalies found on this review, at the BF3 test, which conflict the general assumption that HT has practically no benefit for gaming, made me register to it and post a comment. In this...
