Well had a drive failure on the FX rig after Ubuntu updated to 17.10... really weird... Luckily, had a spare laptop hdd laying around that I reinstalled a fresh copy of 17.10 onto and just got it started back up crunching. We'll see how it holds up.

There's a pretty big difference in PPD between linux and windows. You could probably near double your output if you were to switch your dedicated boxes to a linux OS. Ubuntu seems to be the easiest to setup (at least for me, I'm a linux noob)

I have a Xeon x3440 (which is almost an i7 860) overclocked to 3.2-3.4, don't remember which and it pulls in about 5-6k ppd running Ubuntu 17.04, right now running only SCC jobs. http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=host&proj=bwcg&hostid=3876615 @peche are you running Linux on any of your...

Down here in the south, it's not so much the heat, but the humidity to go with it. 95F is much more tolerable when the humidity isn't 70% I can't wait for summer to be over. Power bill just goes through the roof trying to keep the house cool enough, even without a bunch of crunchers chugging...

    WCG-TPU Cruncher's Hardware/Tech Support Discussion Thread

I have noticed lately that several of my clients will randomly stop uploading or download jobs until I either restart the client or a full shut down and restart. Worst case for me has been reinstalling the client It seems like these issues have started since they moved everything off to the...

    Crunchers Helping Crunchers

Have you checked the windows Network and Sharing settings on both? Seems to be the simple things that cause windows devices to not see other devices on the network

My fault, I was looking at the avg. 68 seems a bit high for custom water. Checked the cpu block to make sure it's mounted good? replaced thermal paste?

Not on a custom loop, but running a 280mm rad AIO and my 1700 @3.7 1.2v sits around 48-50c package temp on full load Vrm temps hover around 75-80c 48.2c seems very reasonable at 1.3v
