    AOC Announces the Agon AG352UCG: Ultrawide 35", 3440*1440, 100 Hz and G-Sync

The pcper source (a bit outdated too) concludes that g-sync is a bit better, the same thing I said. I did extensive tests with both kind and I can tell you g-sync just feels better. Inputlag is virtually non-exsistent around 120-144fps, which is perfectly fine to play at...

    AOC Announces the Agon AG352UCG: Ultrawide 35", 3440*1440, 100 Hz and G-Sync

It's true that it's very close, but not quite the same, g-sync is clearly a better technology, it just too expensive while it delivers not much more real world performance than Freesync. G-Sync stores the frames on the FPGAa built into the monitor, so the video card doesn't need to resend those...

Upgrade to 7700K was a let down!

4 cores vs 6 cores doesn't matter in gaming unless in some very rare cases and only if you are playing in low resolution, but if you used the more cores in other apps (even for streaming), then you are downgraded in that regard. I don't think there is much difference with 16x vs 8x in PCIe3 with...

NVIDIA Announces the G-SYNC HDR Technology

The former also induces "cost" since you would preferably need an engine which processes and renders everything in 10bit too, and that means more GPU work.

    BIOSTAR RACING P1 Mini-PC

I'm not sure the more EU would show in a mini-PC scenario, while the x7 would make it significantly more expensive perhaps. The z8500 only has HD graphics indeed, but it has dual channel support which can help with IGP performance and it offers higher CPU clocks too. It's all about the price.

    BIOSTAR RACING P1 Mini-PC

The z8500 would have been a better choice.

Loophole Lets You Freely Upgrade to Windows 10 After Offer Expiry

The actual quote is below, and yes it's more like a aknowledgement than a apology, but that's why I used "iirc", because I wasn't sure about the exact wording. "We know we want people to be running Windows 10 from a security perspective, but finding the right balance where you’re not stepping...

Loophole Lets You Freely Upgrade to Windows 10 After Offer Expiry

Honestly it's been known since win10 upgrade exists, but it's never the news why we come to TPU (I can't even think of a site which is slower tbh), we just come because we love it how it is :toast: ps.: Iirc MS even apologized recently for its malware like win10 upgrade procedure.

AMD RYZEN Demo Event - Beats $1,100 8-Core i7-6900K, With Lower TDP

Q1, There is a * at the title bar of the blender window on the Intel system, which means the file was edited without saving. What's changed? Q2, Why can't we see the taskbar of the Intel system, what's there? (as the camera pans over the table, it seems that more apps are running on the AMD rig).

Calyos Unveils the NGS Cube Passive-Cooled Gaming Desktop

Honestly, sometimes it's just beyond my comprehension to understand some people who design systems (like who in the world would have guessed that someone would design a nextgen HD console with ddr3 as the video memory type in 2012, and yet, there were guys at Microsoft who got serious money on...

    Is RAM Disk worth it?

Any SSD you buy nowadays will be utterly obsolete and small way before you would start seeing nand failures. I recommend you give that RAM to Windows instead of spending it on a ram drive (or give it to Shadowplay, and let it save more seconds into memory). In the early days of DOS and Windows...

    Is RAM Disk worth it?

I wonder how many Mbps / sec do you need, because I found SSDs to be up to the job and fine for recording with Shadowplay.

    New Video Card help

You can risk it ofc, just like you can run cross the street at red lights for years or even decades... but make sure you understand that a bad PSU can 1, kill your entire PC (videocard, motherboard, hard drives, etc) 2, could set itself on fire and burn down your house. I'm running/testing a...

    New Video Card help

"Be Quiet! Pure Power L8 350" or "Chieftec Force CPS-400" are both reliable and cheap (the former is with FSP, the latter is with Sirtec inside), or the "FSP350-60APN" it's even cheaper but iirc it has short cables, so you have to make sure it will reach the motherboard's powerplug. I wouldn't...

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Performance Analysis

What I was trying to say that -while the original sentence could use a different wording indeed - your sentence is confusing too. Just to clarify things, looks like your perception of smoothness at 30fps equals my perception at 60 fps, so my original post stands, because it seems to me that you...

    SSD vs HDD Failure

Yes but those are usually have some kind of raid setup for redundancy, and since the hard drives are not in the PC, you also move away a big chunk of space/noise from the desktop.

    SSD vs HDD Failure

I avoid HDDs in all the systems I build. If more storage is needed, then NAS.
