PowerColor Starts Selling the DEVIL Box External Graphics Solution

The XPS doesn't have the amplifier port, only the Alienware does. And Dell's solution is way better priced than any of these thunderbolt enclosures. MSRP is $200 but you can regularly see it for $160 or less. Plus, their proprietary port achieves better performance than thunderbolt enclosures...

AMD Releases Catalyst 15.11.1 Beta Drivers

Bioshock Infinite doesn't work for me using 15.11 drivers nor do 15.11.1. I get an infinite loop at the launcher window when launching from Steam. 15.7.1 works though and game launches fine.

AMD Doesn't Trust its Own Processors - Project Quantum Driven by Intel Core i7-4790K

Quite the shitstorm one article title has brought up. The title is too biased and condescending. Why even put in the title about AMD trusting it's own processors? It's not like TPU is new and inexperienced. All this could be easily avoided with a more unbiased, less clickbait title: AMD Project...

NZXT Announces the Noctis 450 Mid-tower Chassis

If only they used better paint that won't chip so easily. Taking on and off fans will chip their paint no matter what. NZXT uses the thinnest coat of paint I have seen on cases.

    Swiftech H240-X

I never liked their mounting bracket. It practically uses stickers for initial placement on the back of the motherboard. Then when I screw the CPU block on, those stickers don't hold so the bracket moves. I always have to hold the motherboard upright and hold the bracket with one hand and try to...

New PC randomly restarting, Event 41 Kernel Power

I am having basically the same issue. Computer randomly restarts when stressed. I could load up Unigine and a less than a min into it the computer would shut down and restart. Or I'm 10s into sleeping dogs and computer shuts down and restarts. However, when I take out my graphics card R9 290 and...

    RealTemp vs RealTemp TI Edition

I've used coretemp and realtemp. Feature-wise, they're practically identical. Even the interface is similar. However, there is a problem with coretemp in that it will lock up your computer randomly when you start it up requiring a hard reset. It's a rare occurrence, but it does happen. Other...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

Don't think it's a driver issue. It's during POST. I'm on 14.4 btw. It's only on boot up though. Once it gets into windows, it's back to normal. This does make navigating the UEFI extremely difficult.

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

So I had a MSI R9 290 a couple of months ago and I started getting lines. I posted this before, but here's the refresher . This only happened when hooked up on the DisplayPort. Went through some hoops to get things replaced and now I have a XFX R9 290 DD. The same thing happens on the DP only...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

I'm having way too many problems with this card. The card now isn't exactly flickering, but would display a black screen for a full second at a time. It's also very random and this is through HDMI. This is my second card with the first one giving me boot issues. I'm just going to return it and...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

Tried the HDMI output instead and there's not lines when booting from it. Is there a reason why Displayport messes up the monitor so bad? It was working fine with dp until after the bsod.

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

The thing is after I changed to DP, I didn't change anything. I did try IGP to check if lines persisted but with IGP everything was fine. Using PEG again, I get the lines. I did get a blue screen with error 0xa00001 and then every subsequent bootup I get these lines. I'm still on 13.12 and did a...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

So I switched to the integrated graphics and during POST there are no lines and everything is normal. Did the card just give out?

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

A different problem occurred today starting with a BSOD and windows giving me the error code 0xa00001. I googled the code and it seems to have something to do with the AMD drivers. Now everytime I boot up I get weird lines on my screen and once it boots to desktop, the screen is really wonky...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

Well I've been using the DisplayPort for the past 2 hours or so and so far I haven't gotten any flickering. Even played BF4 for a while. Seems as though it was the DVI port. Definitely makes sense now come to think of it. When I was using integrated graphics through DVI, I had a very similar...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

Thanks a lot. That would explain why I had a similar problem when I was using integrated graphics while waiting for a real GPU. I also have a laptop connected via HDMI to this monitor and that one has been working flawlessly with no flicker. I still really like the monitor, especially the USB...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

Well I was trying to see if there's anything in the BIOS that can disable it and I don't think there is. Under display adapters in device manager, it only has AMD Radeon 200 series. I was also looking around in Catalyst settings and saw some settings related to GPU Scaling and DVI settings...

    MSI Radeon R9 290(X) gaming/lightning card club

Well, I gave 13.12 a shot and this morning, the same screen flicker/tear happened. I don't think it's the PSU. It's a Seasonix X650 Gold and the fact that I'm not even stressing the GPU or anything and it'll still flicker. It could happen while web browsing or just navigating file explorer. My...
