Wintel Alliance Slowly Crumbling, ARM To Eventually Rule The Desktop?

Sorry but it's simple as that: they can't. ARM is superior on very base level + dedicated processing units spread across SoC make the case even worse for x86. "The Cortex-A9 has a TDP of 1.9w @2Ghz, the Atom Z550@2GHz is only at 2.5w." This means that atom would be trashed by ARM performace...

Microsoft Working On Not One, But Two New Xbox Product Lines

just clarifying, 100-200MB is (I think even now, with x0) OS + the "menu" UI, when game runs it's probably under 50-100MB (just the kernel + some networking for MP + achievements/overlay menu) Oh and that argument about 64bit, Xenon as far as it's known to people is 64bit, though games seem to...

I'd say they'll go for "unified" RAM...

Microsoft Working On Not One, But Two New Xbox Product Lines

Hah! "Told you so!" the stronger version goes exactly as I predicted about year ago! So now, going further with predictions. The weaker one will be ARM based, I'm telling you! The push to ARM is strong and clearly visible, this would be ultimate test drive for next-gen where it'll be...
