Cooling for a FX8350 Black Edition.

Have you notice they didn't even solder the fins to the heat pipes? Just use your fingers to play with the fins and they'll move about. How do they expect the fins to conduct the heat from the heat pipes even it's not even in proper contact with it?

Cooling for a FX8350 Black Edition.

I agree, cause I dumped my FX8350 stock cooler once my Phanteks PH-TC14S arrives. I don't overclock it cause this will only increase the heat and power consumption. My temp remains in the range of 30-40°C at idle and not more than 60°C when running Prime95.

I have a Maxtor 80GB DiamondMax HD ATA/133 that I want to save help me!

Maybe he meant it as a joke. But there are certain things that's not meant to be said, such as rapes, violence, and killings. Victims of such heinous acts do NOT treat these as funny jokes. Best regards,

I don't like kids and babys either. But punching them is out of the line. Pick someone of your own size if you're so tough! Best regards, Nelson Ng Yeng Wai (Singapore)

Help me improve my dual core's performance

Have you even "used" a SSD? SSDs are used as Primary drives, primarily as Windows Boot drives because they can speed up the Windows load times tremendously and makes the system so much more responsive. Remember when RAM is in limited capacity and Windows need to frequently page them to the HDD...

ASUS Announces the E3 Pro Gaming V5 Motherboard Based on Intel C232 Chipset

Using Xeon processors for gaming??? Xeons are server processors, for task and workload intensive workloads only. Consumer grade Windows XP / 7 / 8 / 10 doesn't even have proper support for these processors. You'll need Linux for proper OS support.... Asus is desperate to milk every soul till...

Core i7-4770k running Prime95 hot. Is it safe?

Core i7-4770k running Prime95 hot. Is it safe?

Call for the Fire Brigade!!! Joke aside, you should thoroughly review your setup (check your voltage, heat sink mount, etc). My i7-5820k OC to 4.0GHz is only max 68°C when on Prime95 (Small FFTs Test preset, ambient at 30°C) Reset back to stock clock & voltages, then check your temp to...

Intel Core i7 "Broadwell-E" Lineup to Feature Four SKUs

14nm process and rated at 140W TDP. BUT the Broadwell-E 6 and 8 cores line up looks like a mirror image of the Haswell-E line up In terms of the base clock and L3 cache! Looks like Broadwell-E is more of a "Haswell-E Refresh" ...

Is this CPU Upgrade worth it?

Btw, i7-5820k is never meant for gaming. It's for multithread-intensive applications. For tri/quad SLI, you'll need 5930k or 5960X because of the PCIe lanes (the 5820k only had 28 lanes, barely enough even for dual SLI). For gaming, a high-clock i5 is more than enough cause games are more...

    windows 7 8 or 10

If you want a stable and (power) user-friendly Windows, stick to Win 7. Win 8 should never have been released (I bought a Win 8 Pro upgrade at about US$13 when I bought my laptop more than 2 years ago and haven't even used the purchased key yet!). If you're into gaming, Win 10 is a must...

    5820k overclocking

Depends very much on what is your "maximum" overclocking speed and other components installed. Graphics card can also contribute a huge amount to the total power consumption ... My 5820k is "modestly" overclocked at 4.0GHz (3.3GHz stock clock) while Vcore undervolted at 1.041V, just a hair...

XMP and fast memory setting makes computer unstable?

I have the same motherboard with a FX-8350 CPU. For maximum compatibility, I installed 4 x 8GB Kingston ValuRam modules at the lowest DDR3-1333MHz. As speeds increase, RAM compatibility will plunge very rapidly. Just a notch above this speed at 1666MHz may reduce compatibility to only 2...

    Favorite Motherboard Brand?

My personal favorite is ASRock followed by Gigabyte, MSI, and lastly Asus. ASRock because it's motherboard has the best hardware features for the price they are charging. The Fatal1ty series are top notch in build quality (I'm using the Fatal1ty X99M Killer / 3.1 for my high performance build)...
