DOOM ( Does anyone feel headache or nausea when playing? )

I love high FOV when I play FPS, gives this predator peripheral vision edge, I usually run 110-120 depending on game.

Switched from AS5 to Thermaltake TG-7. Huge difference!

I've tried a lot of different pastes but I prefer AS5. It seems to last a long time and it doesn't pump out with thermal cycles. They all seem to have the same temperatures or within 1-2 degrees. For example, Techpowerup's own review of the popular NT-H1 vs Arctic Silver 5...

How many people still use sound cards?

Do you still use a sound card? Maybe? I don't know if this thing counts but it was worth $5 for sure. Fixed so many problems I was having with my mic and the audio quality is really decent. I don't even have my audio chipset drivers installed because I hate the VIA chipset audio. Not a card...

AMD Announces Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition

Was curious about it, so I checked the SEC 10K income statements for these companies Nvidia (10K 2017): Nvidia Marketing as Percentage of R&D: 45.28% (the previous SEC 10K for 2016: 45.11%, so essentially the same) AMD (10K 2016): AMD Marketing as Percentage of R&D: 45.63% Intel(SEC 10K 2016)...

New Build: Replacing an 8 year computer!

Might as well get a 6 or 8 core now. That will be the new future. Games such as GTA V already take advantage of it. Now is finally the time for more cores.

    Help overclocking i7 3930k

As an addendum to @Thimblewad In offset mode, Actual Voltage = (VID +/- Offset) +LLC Actual Voltage = the actual voltage that the processor is receiving. Voltage observed by your hardware monitoring. VID = Voltage the processor is assigned by Intel to request for any given Clock Speed. VID...

New Build: Replacing an 8 year computer!

I don't see the point of nitpicking about the cooler, NHD15 or NHD15S will be usable for every other build he might make in the future too assuming Noctua sells the mounting hardware which they probably will. Might as well get the best air cooler on the market. Should last the next 100 years...

Do I still need to keep my pc parts boxes?

The videocards and motherboards are worth much more with the box. CPU doesn't matter as much since they sometimes sell these as OEMs and the boxes are rather uninteresting, but those boxes can be broken down flat for storage inside the motherboard boxes :). If you save all of them all it might...

Do I still need to keep my pc parts boxes?

For the most part, I keep motherboard, videocard, CPU, and power supply boxes. As long as I own the part I own the box. Once I don't own the part I get rid of the box. The box increases the value a lot and since I resell when I upgrade to offset the cost of the upgrade, I keep the boxes...

    All those Stupid Trends!

I agree, they all look the same and as I don't use any of the "features" on them it means so little to me when each new one comes out. I hate seeing other people using them in public, it nearly always involves something dumb ranging from texting while driving to jaywalking across the street...

    Noctua NH-D15S versus NH-D15

It depends on your case. If the case has a cutout on the backside of the motherboard tray, then you won't need to remove the motherboard from the case. If you remove the back panel of the case and there is no cutout, then you will have to remove your motherboard.

Has anyone done a total cap replacement on a board ?

I don't understand how this thread devolved into epeen comparison. Not sure why anyone cares about this? These chips all overclocked differently, there was a lot of variablity. I owned six 939 processors, several venice, san diego, and an opteron. They all clocked differently. The best...

That was the worst phone I've owned. Terrible reliability. Terrible keypad. Only good thing about it was the bling factor since I was an early adopter at the time.

    Should i upgrade to a 1060 6GB

Get the next gen I think. You are late into the cycle. 1060 has been out already 1.5 year. In theory the next 1160/2060 will be better in some way, might as well wait for it IMO. I think it will be out in 2018.

    Loot boxes Are Gambling.

As far as the non pay 2 win stuff, its still a money making scam. Just give the skins away. Games like Overwatch already cost $40-60. I remember when skins were free to be modded into games like UT and you didn't need to pay extra.

You might need a good iron, boards have lead free solder and it won't lift easily.
