0.8A charger replaced with 2.0A charger

my old mp3 player charger is RIP, and after i searched a little i found another charger that still works, its labelled 5.0V - 2.0A and my RIP charger is 5.0V - 0.8A
i want to use that but im kinda afraid since its Ampere twice over the old one
is that safe enough or i better buy another charger that run 0.8A

its safe, the devices themselves limit the current they can draw.


so to put it another way - it wont charge any faster than the old charger did.

think of it like PSUs on PCs.
if you use PSU rated 1200W to power an atom based PC, it does not mean that PC consume 1200W

2 Amps is just the max current the charger can supply, real current draw will depends on the device itself

eh worst that could happen is u fry the junk . just kidding. thats not a major difference as long as ur talking ampers. now change the voltage u might even see some sparks! =)
