hey fam.
i'm from turkey and i worked really hard for this build (6 months with doing NOTHING ELSE LITERALLY) so PLEASE PLEASE BE KIND. this pc is made from my tears and sweat ffs.

LET'S GET TO THE POINT
build : i5 10400f / zotac rtx 3060ti twin edge / msi b460m pro / xpg spectrix 3000 mhz 2x8 ram / corsair carbide spec 05 / corsair 650w psu / 1tb hdd / 1tb ssd

SO, after buying these i have a little money left. i plan to work again for a 2k monitor but there is a curfew because of the pandemic. I NEED TO GET A MONITOR FOR A FEW MONTHS because i do programming (study actually), gaming.

what i can buy with this money can make you cry.
LG 22MK400H-B
yea. 75hz 1080p monitor. anyways. my question is, will something bad happen to my gpu/cpu? i tested my gpu and cpu for a bottleneck with a 1080p 144hz monitor, it was very smooth actually and i didnt see anything bad happening. but this 75hz and 1080p thing is making me so anxious. im ok with tearing/bleeding for a few months but if something bad happens to my cpu/gpu it is going to be disappointing for me.

thanks for reading this.

Nothing bad is going to happen to your hardware. You're just going to waste a lot of performance. I don't know what type of games you play, but that card is better suited for 1440p.

The Gigabyte M27Q is a pretty good budget 1440p 170Hz IPS monitor.

Hmm... just curious, what is the total cost of your build? and yeah imo you should saving up and get 2k monitor sometimes later

The Gigabyte M27Q is a pretty good budget 1440p 170Hz IPS monitor.

On where i live the word Gigabyte and budget doesnt come together, in here that M27Q cost the same as Dell S2721DGF :kookoo:

As you can see in my system specs that's my main monitor, build quality is so cheap and i can easily feel it, 1MS feels good and 75Hz feels really great comparing to 60 (i was rly excited to see how far can i OC it especially it's a TN panel but it turned out that it'll give you the "out of range" message at anything above 75Hz), tearing isn't that bad & there is no bleeding, as a TN panel colours are pretty regular nothing crazy.
It suits my 1650 just fine, but definitely not your 3060 Ti.
Trust me it's worth the work for a high refresh rate monitor, just don't waist your money on this.

That's rough. Here it's about 350€. My brother in law picked one up during black friday for 275€. That Dell isn't available here yet, but it should be around 500€ when it arrives.

Cyberpunk 2077 maxed out will eat that card even on 1080p.

Unless you are having issues or are dissatisfied with your current monitor, I think you should keep your current monitor. For programming & studying (depending on what kind), any resolution monitor should do just fine. For gaming, Your monitor may or may not bottleneck your computer's performance for recent games if you play at the highest settings. Even if your monitor does bottleneck the performance, just wait a year or two for newer games as those will be more GPU intensive. Your GPU will last longer without needing to upgrade for a longer time. This is just my opinion though. The decision is up to you.

But you don't have to max it out, right?
Sure, but why wouldn't you if it can take full advantage of his GPU & monitor.

What's the point with a spanking new >€500 GPU otherwise?
WTF!?!?! :wtf: The card cost over 500 euros?!? Maybe should've gone for RTX 3070 instead?

Does it though? I've only seen preview benchmarks and those are.. well, not very optimized. Regardless, some games always take it too far in ultra settings (ex: Crysis). Shouldn't really be an example, imo.

Probably not that model. But yeah, some 3060 Ti go for that much. The 3070 is >700€.

Yeah, I forgot that I am basing my pricing on the founder's edition model & forgot to take into account that those graphics card are sold at a higher price in Europe.

in turkey 3060ti price: 5.500-6.500
3070: 7.000-8.000
minimum wage : 2.324

thank you so much for your advice. i think this way too rn, upgrading your pc is not really wallet-friendly in turkey. i wont upgrade it for 3-4 years so 2k can be useless.

Nothing wrong with picking 3060 Ti. The performance difference is not that much compared to the price difference.

This is also fine. If you don't care about higher resolution or higher frame rate, then stick with your current monitor. 1080p@75Hz is a fine pair for 3060 Ti for years to come.

Hmmm... There seems to be a confusion here on what 2K resolution means. It seems to me that you guys think that 2K resolution = 1440p. It's not. 1440p is more like 2.5K. 2K is 2048x1080. 1080p is 1920x1080. The 2K, 4K, 8K, etc. nomenclature indicates that width size is at least 2000, 4000, 8000, etc. pixels wide respectively.

This marketing term was originally suppose to be used for cinematic purposes only by the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) but the term eventually bled out into the whole display industries which I believe has become a mess of a confusing marketing gimmick to the general unassuming consumers.
