1070 driver keeps crashing at desktop

This never happens while I'm gaming, only while I'm browsing the web. The driver will crash and recover, and everything will be fine. This can sometimes happen several times a day, but I can also go several days without a driver crash. There have been several driver updates since it started, and every once in a while I run a clean driver install instead of upgrading, so I don't think it's a problem with the driver per se unless nVIDIA is shipping buggy drivers these days.

What does it say in in System Logs about the issue?
Right click Start Button and select-->Eventviewer go to WIndows Logs----then Application and then system

Look st the times that the issue is happening!

There's a crapton of errors related to nvlddmkm. They all say either of these two things:

The description for Event ID 13 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Variable String too Large

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

Try to disable hardware acceleration in your browser(s), I know it shouldn't be needed but it should work until you find a permanent fix.

Okay sorry to hear this! Let try reinstalling your Motherboard Chipset driver, no need to uninstall the original Chipset driver just install right over the top, then reboot and re-install again right over the top the Nvidia software suite. Then retest to see if still getting crashes. ALso while doing the Chipset see if there is a Bios update available for your Motherboard if there is a new one install that too please but it is not as important and probably nothing new available as the last update was in 2012 for Bios.

I disabled Firefox's hardware acceleration, and I'm no longer getting crashes. I shouldn't have to do that, it's ridiculous.
