I have a box full of old hardware from the late 90s and early 00s. It includes a 3dfx voodoo2 card, an ati 4 meg pci pci card, a 32 meg ati agp card with coax in for watching tv, a 56k pci modem, a matrox 8 meg agp card, a 16 bit soundblaster card, 3 NIC cards and a ton of 100mhz and 133 mhz ram dimms. Obviously none of this stuff is worth anything unless there is some old soul who wants to relive the glory days and would pay the right price for it. However, keeping it in working condition over a long period of time could prove financially beneficial as most of these old parts are hard to find. i know on ebay some of the older cards go for 50-100 bucks  anyway, what say you?

Keep it! Just for the sake of nostalgia. Show your grandchildren one day how computers looked like back then.

Power Supply yes

Sell it or better yet, give it away.

About 15 years ago, I had 2 cabinets full of electronics,
yes these components had a lot of value, but only to
me and other hobbyists. I sold what I could, gave away some
and put the rest out for trash (very hard to do).

It's like a weight being lifted, now I don't accumulate stuff
anymore unless I use it regularly.

By getting rid of the stuff, I was able to change and not
accumulate more.

Sell it... Give it... or Throw it... ;)

Keep: Voodoo card, the ati stuff, the matrox card, and some rams. The rest, throw away or sell/give away. In all honesty, 56k modems are completely useless nowadays, and at least I personally hate them too much to keep them for nostalgia. But you can use the old cards for decoration, like i do:

Some places do electronic recycling i think? If you have no use for it make a cool bling chain from something then sell what you can; obviously a lot of it will not be of any real value other than nostalgic so giving it away or recycling is a good option instead of just simply trashing it.

Uh 56k the scourge of the internet those will be pretty much useless to everyone the NIC cards may still be useful.

@Easy: I can quite relate to the dilemma you're in; I'm kinda the same when it comes to hanging on to old stuff - heck, sometimes I get more old stuff! From your later post it sounds like you'd like to have a purge, so I think you should do that. Perhaps keep one or two items that have particular sentimental value and sell or give away the rest. You'll be lucky to get anything for them, so perhaps one of those computer recycling/charity places would take them in, where they could be used in old computers given away to less fortunate people in poor countries.

@MRCL: That hardware decoration: so geeky, so cool. Nice. :rockout: I have the odd graphics card lying around in full view. My old 2900 XT 1GB lemony card looks gorgeous. Shame the performance & noise sucked so, but it's easily the hottest looking card ever made, what with that flame design and all. I also have an XFX 8800 Ultra I bought brand new off eBay not so long ago. After using it briefly (yes, it's still awesome...) it lives in its box in the cupboard. Yup, it's all about the having. :D

I've got one of these in perfect condition - can't decide whether to sand the legs off & make a key-chain, keep it for nostalgia, or sell it :)

It's still in 100% working order.

Don't throw them away. Some ppl search for such stuff because they want to build a nostalgia system so they can run very old games on them in native mode not through an emulator or something.

EDIT:
Btw, i have a S3 Savage 4 Pro 64MB AGP 4x somewhere and a Motorola 56k modem. That's all i have from a "vintage" hardware.
I used to have a working Commodore II 64 (it was like a PC, with its own monitor) which i still regret i disassembled and later on throw away.
But i was young and stupid back then...

After 10 years you can sell them for 1000$. After 20 for 10000$ and it will come a day when you will gather the benefits. I still have 2x32 mb sdram in my collection and one offered me to buy them for 20$ each and i didn't deal :p

Meh, you should sell it on Ebay or something. In my opinion, hardware that old is pretty much obsolete. The motherboards are not really upgradable, because companies don't make hardware that old anymore. If you do find some hardware that's that old, it's probably going to be more expensive, because it's harder to find.
