Hi friends,

I'm planning to build a new system that goes like this:

I5 3470
8 GB Ram
and Asus 7870 DCU2.

I was wondering, will i be able to get high fps rates with 1440x900 resolution at ULTRA settings with aa and af ?

I'm planning to run games like Skyrim, Dishonored, Deus Ex and Far Cry 3 with this new system i'm going to build.

But will Asus 7870 DCU2 struggle with games like this ?

Much gratitude!

I used to have an ATI HD6870 running my games at 1600x1200 res and almost all my games ran perfect at high/ultra settings so the HD7870 should have no trouble at the res you are using.

No problem as the HD7870 is still a good card, and 1440x900 is a small resolution. My HD6950 1gb + 2500k @ 4.7ghz run FC3 1080P on High, so with the HD7870, might get the ultra easy...

Benchmark Scores 2cm mark on bench with a razor blade.
Played two of those games on a 1440x900 screen with an ASUS HD7870 at max settings.
Both Skyrim and Far Cry 3 ran fine on maximum settings.

Bare in mind there maybe issues with stutter in Skyrim which is resolved with the Simple Borderless Window mod.

Benchmark Scores Nah.
I feel like you should save some money on the card to invest in a better monitor. It makes a world of difference, and frankly a 7870 is overkill for 1440*900.

Personally, I'd even rather play at 1080p (not that that's a high resolution) on medium than 1440*900 on ultra with (2^937)xAnti-Aliasing.

Benchmark Scores Benches are silly
At 900p, a 7870 + 3470 shouldn't have problems with any games even on max.
