165hz monitor wil only run at 120hz and YCbCr 4:2:2

My AOC Q32G2WG3 will for some reason only run at 120 hz although it's a 165hz monitor and YCbCr 4:2:2 gpu is a rx 6700 xt

My AOC C24G2U/BK ryuns 1920x1080 165hz fine at RGB 4:4:4 or YCbCr 4:4:4

What can i do to fix it

I should think so, both are the same "long" cable

I tried my long hdmi cable now both run at 144hz (ufo hz test) even when my 24" is set til 165hz

I need a long dp cable and both would run at 165hz, i just don't know why both run at 144hz and no 144hz and 165hz

Is there an option in the monitors settings to overclock?
My AOC was sold as 75Hz but ran at 60Hz by default.

HDMI 2.0 can carry no more than 144Hz at 1440p. I'm pretty sure that's also the case at 1080p. You need DP to achieve that refresh rate.

edit: some people claim that 1080/165 is possible over HDMI 2.0, but that assumes the monitor is also designed to accept 165Hz over HDMI. Most intend for you to use DP for that.

I need to buy a long dp cable so i can run both at 165hz, just don't know what brand to get, now that i know i need to buy a long dp cable (no amazon link i don't live in usa)

You need a display port cable for the full quality and refresh rates, HDMI will limit on most 165Hz monitors

DP 1.4 is what you're looking for.
Older DP standards can't do that refresh rate.

I'd gotten HDMI 2.1 and Dsiplayport 1.4 cables that may or may not be VESA certified, but works great. Brands like Ugreen, ATZ, heck even Amazon Basic 8K DP 1.4 cable would do the trick. These aren't expensive at all....

I can see the RX 6700 XT Red Devil got 3xDP and 1xHDMI.

So if I was you I would go DP only because then you should be sure to get the resolution and refresh rate that you need.

If your AOC monitors came with DP cables use them, same I have done with my own 4K and my previous Dell monitor which was 1440p@165Hz and I had zero issues.

You cannot, have you checked av-cables.dk since you are from Denmark they have some decent prices.

They have specific 4K and 8K categories for their DisplayPort cables up to 50meters in length.

What length do you need?

It wasn't the cable.

I looked under DP Cability under OSD Setup 1.1

Changed it to 1.2 =2560x1440 165hz

Tried the old cable mabye i didn't push it enough into the monitor so i tried the new cable

Does this occur with all games? For me, with my HP Omen 25, (TN) even when I have it set to 144 Hz in Windows, Halo Custom Edition (DirectX 9) won't give me an option of higher than 120 Hz. (I assume it's hardcoded into Halo CE) Would an override work for older engines or what's based on older engines like that? In the case of Halo CE, looks like it was last patched in 2014, which brings the version up to 1.0.10.
I can OTOH, select higher than 1920x1080 for the res on my Acer monitor that does 2560x1440.
