i am amazed that so many would suggest such bolucks, just 1 or 2 members actually gave a good suggestion

facts
underpowered dual core
underpowered PSU
3GB DDR2
SMALL BUDGET

those facts scream 5670/6670/gt440/gt540 maybe 5750

and stop acting like just because the monitor is 1680x1050 he has to game at that res...my monitor is 1680x1050 and i game at 1280x800 with no problems... you dont have to spend a boat load of money on new parts, i would suggest you get an identical 2gb stick of ddr2 so that you have proper dual channel freq and timings, and get yourself any one of the cards i listed which will work fine with your PSU...yeesh

Shogun 2 requires a decent cpu i can only assume you play on very low settings, you will still have to play on lower settings but a new graphics card will help.
No point getting a 6850, with new cards around the block its going to drop in price and it will be bottlenecked by the cpu. I dont know if the PSU is just ever so slightly under required wattage, also have to think about amperage.

There's no point getting ram to make it to 4gb and dual channel, DDR2 is expensive.

when i plug my pc into my 32" 720p tv, i play at native and the image is bigger, thats all, i used to have a 1080p monitor and when i shifted from 720p to 1080p there was a noticable increase in detail, but not with 1050p
