greetings to all pro n gamers

hello, I have one situation here, need help

just bought an AMD Crosshair IV Formula from a friend, I install my 6870 in the 1st pciE slot, its ok for the first time, i boot into bios and change the setting, just a normal setting.

when i restart the PC, the display is blank, cant see a thing. but the PC is still running, everything is ok but getting an error Red LED on VGA on the M0bo.

then I started to change my GPU and place it to the 2nd and 3rd pciE slot, and its was ok. I also tried other gpu on the 1st pcie slot and i get the same problem, but when switching to the 2nd and 3rd pcie slot, everything went fine

does my 1st pcie slot is faulty? or is there any other setting?

thank for the help, much appreciate:respect:

:( I have the same issue with my current board DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH. It does exactly what you are describing. I have tried using other BIOS's, 5 different graphics cards no luck I am sure my 1st PCIE slot is bad. I will be sending my board out for repair or replacement. Different motherboard brands but I have not found a recovery for this issue other than RMA.

I believe on my board when I flashed it to the latest BIOS that’s what messed my motherboard up. When I first received the board my first PCIE slot worked after the BIOS update its doing what I described. I have looked for a fix to this issue and have not found one that has worked for me. My only option is to send the board in for repair or replacement. For me could have been a bad BIOS flash I would say contact ASUS and see if they have a fix other than sending it back. I have been running my board with the 2nd PCIE slot since I bought it. I should have sent it in right away now that I am I will be without my computer until I get the board back. :(
