1st time build, a little unsure

Hey guys, Ive been looking into building a computer for mainly gaming and surfing the web, Ive never built one before so I'm a little uneasy about spending roughly $800 and ending up running into a problem. Here's what I have so far

Ok thanks I'll be sure to get a better psu and probably the 4850. So far I've stuck with Nvidia but I'd rather be able to upgrade it later.

Do you think I will need thermal compound or will it already be on the heatsink that comes with the processor

Yeah I might overclock it in the future so Ill get it also, would it be worth it to get a Radeon 4870 instead of a 4850
