2 x 6770 better than 2 x 4850?

2 x 6770 better than 2 x 4850?

Currently have 2 x 4850 and it struggles in newer games with 1920 resolution. Today's newegg deal for 6770 is tempting, should I buy 2? Will I see some improvement?

Initially want to go with 2 x 6850 but the price of 6770 is tempting and it will not put load on my PSU too.

Want to reduce peak power consumption as my current system underload full load eats about 460 watts :shadedshu

with 2 x 6850 I won't be saving much on the power consumption tho.

Thoughts?

The 6770s are just rebranded 5770s. imo get a single powerful card like a 6870 or wait and see what the 7 series are gonna be like.

Sold out! Was $70 after rebate, if anyone was wondering.

At that price, would have upgraded the wife's 5670.

Could be an issue with vram too depending on the units. My 4850 512 would still be in use except crossfiring it with another 4850 512 wouldnt have done much for me playing bc2 at the resolution I was using. 1gb cards would have ran fine.

Going from a 4850 1gb to a 6770 1gb... the 4850 is maybe a couple of percent slower.

Going from a 4850 512 to a 6770 1gb .. .if the price was right..

I would suggest to wait for the 7 series and to avoid 77xx series if they say it is just
18.5% better than 57xx

The card is sold out, damn meetings. Anyway I will have to wait for next deal, may be on 2 x 6850 or may be 7850/70?

i went from 2 x 4850 512 MB to 1 6870 1GB and couldnt be happier

framerates are better from the extra memory and gfx horsepower wise i noticed a bump too.
