I dont see why not, it'd last you for a while. just make sure the rest of the system wont bottle-neck it.

I don't mean to be overly negative but just making sure you're thinking this through. That "sale" price is still well above MSRP and it's possible for the price to fall some more. Also buying it would mean buying at the tail-end of this generation and the next gen is bound to be considerably faster but probably more expensive as well.

The down side is that it will obviously be a gamble if you wait.

What resolution is your monitor? Unless you have a 4K monitor, I doubt (although it is hard to say) that a Nvidia card will be better value.

Yeah the price on even on sale is a joke. Almost 400 dollars for what is essentially a 2070 from 2018.

If you couldn't wait (need to buy now) a 6600 for low 300s or 6600xt/6650xt for 350 are all 3 way better deals

I have an EVGA 3060 that I found a couple months ago at near MSRP. They're great cards but don't touch them for over $400. They should only go for $390 or less.
