I'm looking for a 90+ watts vbios to flash into my GS66. I've already tried the Razer vbios, but unfortunately it has its target limit set to 80 watts, so it can't do 90 watts sustained power draw.

The device id is 10DE 1E91 .

There are two variants of that chip, the TU104 and TU104B, both are limited to 80W TDP.

Your best option may be to increase the power limit through software such as MSI's AfterBurner.

Messing with the VBIOS on a laptop is a bad idea.

In some cases, it is integrated with the main BIOS and flashing may result in a bricked laptop.

If you want 200w GPU buy a desktop.

I'm okay with the risks. I actually already have a desktop with two GTX 1080 Ti and a Ryzen 9 3900X that I used for machine learning research. I just want to tinker around and see how much performance I can push out of the GS66's slim chassis.

With a slight overclock my RTX 2070 Super Max-Q 80W card I can already hit 7500 TImespy Graphics Score with temps below 60C. With a small bump in power limits I should be able to easily hit 8000+ Timespy Graphics Score, matching the RTX 2080 Max-Q cards performance.

That would be nice, but unfortunately MSI afterburner doesn't let me do this for these cards. The only choice is to find a vbios with the target power limit set above or at 90W. There are several laptops out there that do have the 90W variants, but the vbios I have encountered so far are variable so that the target power limits are 80W, but can be bumped up to 90+W using software for that particular device(Razer with Synapse for example).

I have the Acer Triton 500 and at stock the 2070 Super Max-Q use 80W, however there's an "Extreme" toggle in Acer Predator Sense software to allow the GPU to use 90W. This is not even documented in the manual, I figure MSI would have something similar so go into your MSI software to look for overclocking profiles.

Afterburner currently doesn't support power monitor nor increasing power limit on the Super Max-Q series yet, core/mem overclocking is still available though.

Edit: some quick overclocking with the 90W TDP got me 8k1 Timespy Graphic:D. At 80W I can get 7k7.
Edit 2: Seems like Asus Zepherus M is using the 90W version of 2070 Super Max-Q if you can find the bios.

Thanks. I'll try and see if I can get the Zephyrus M vbios.

Turned out you don't need any other vbios, if your Nvidia control panel has the Max-Q dynamic boost option, turn it On will allow the GPU to "borrow" 15W from the CPU lol

I'm able to get 8k4 timespy graphic now with that option ON :D

Unfortunately, that option isn't available on the GS66. It seems either the manufacturer has to enable it or there's a refreshed line of RTX 2070 Super Max-Q cards out their with the feature.

It might also be in previous versions of the Nvidia drivers. I remember reading someone whose Nvidia control panel had it one moment and then disappeared with the most recent update, so I will have to check on that. It might still be possible to re-enable it.

Nice score on Timespy by the way. That's great!

Sad to hear that, I just uploaded the bios to TPU database if you are interested
Device ID is different from yours though, my 2070 Super Max-Q is 10DE 1ED1
