So, there is a new drivers update for 3080 to fix the 3080 issues..

I have just updated my drivers. I noticed that, during game or benchmark, my GPU clock is reducing to 2080, then hovering between 2050 and 2070 durinh benchmark or game.

My GPU is OC'd to 2100 Mhz using precision X. GPU temp is under 70 deg C. during entire gaming and benchmark.

Am I the only one experience this? Honestly I dont know before update. Should I revert to previous drivers?

TIA

Hard to tell, the variation seems small.

Your GPU would never maintain 2100mhz even with previous drivers. That is the nature of GPU BOOST, it varies the clocks in order to keep a constant power consumption, once the GPU heat up to 70C it also reduces the clocks by 30-45mhz.

Ok... but one question in relation to that, even I clicked the boost lock option in precision x, will still downclock?

Nope once the GPU temp pass 40C it would downclock by 15mhz for every 10C, so as the GPU reaches 70C the clocks would have been reduced by 30-45mhz.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

I believe on that generation it is 60C before it drops boost bins (10-15 Mhz = boost bin)....that is how it is on my EVGA and Asus cards I've tested.

Depends on your freq/voltage curve, after 40C the curve will shift down by 15mhz, so it will either downclock by 15mhz or use 0.006V more at the same frequency.
For example my 2080 Ti runs undervolted at 1920mhz/0.9V, once it pass 40C, depends on the next freq/voltage point it will either reduce to 1905mhz or stay at 1920mhz but the voltage is increased to 0.906V.
In Afterburner you can refresh the Freq/voltage curve with F5 after your GPU heat up. My 2080 Ti runs at 42C underload so I lose like 15mhz which is mildly annoying :D.

I mean, I idle around there (on water), so no idea. I just know at ~60C (the hottest my GPU gets), I start to drop bins. Before that, nada.
