Sapphire Radeon RX 460 NITRO OC Pictured

Here's the first picture of Sapphire Radeon RX 460 NITRO OC, a premium RX 460 offering by Sapphire. The card combines a custom-design PCB with a larger than reference cooling solution that employs heat pipes, an aluminium fin-stack, and a pair of 90 mm spinners, to keep the GPU cool. The RX 460, based on the 14 nm "Baffin" Polaris11 silicon, features 896 stream processors spread across 14 compute units; and 4 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 128-bit wide memory interface. The NITRO OC, as its name suggests, features factory-overclocked speeds. The RX 460 is expected to be available from 8th August, 2016.

Price in different regions and availability will determine its success. It should be a great launch for any gamer who needs the best FPS/$ available in the market. $99 MSRP for the stock 460 is great. Let's see what Sapprire does.

Yep. And whether it will be any good for AAA FPS @1080p. Although the ONLY game I currently play is warface, which is pro-nvidia (in terms of fps). But I do wanna get dirty with the AAA titles every once in a while when internet is down... Can't wait for the reviews. Then again, nvidia may come up with something just in time to piss on AMD's plate.

If Nvidia will release something, it will probably be more expensive as usual. Even if it will be slightly faster i don't think it will win in the segment in which every buck counts.

How unusual is that 3rd party GTX 1060s are more available and less expensive than 3rd party RX 480s ?

I won't comment on availability, but please cut the bs with how 1060s are cheaper than 480s. Just take a look yourself, even at overclockers.co.uk.

The main issue is that there are almost no custom 480s still, which is really strange and ridiculous. Have 290 release taught them nothing?

I too find the unavailability of 480's to be quite weird. The month from announcement till release was supposed to be for a huge stockpile to be manufactured.

This should in turn have made chips available for AIB's very readily.

Did anyone else notice the card only supports PCIe 3.0x8? It's missing half the contacts on the connector. Seems like a smart move for this performance range if it saves on cost.

i dont think that expensive 3rd party cooling solutions are needed for this card, this should be as cheap as possible. thats the whole point in this category..
