Good point. Looks like similarly outfitted laptops usually go for around $400-500 USD on ebay.

That being said, I'll entertain any offer. If you've got something you think would be worth trading for a good laptop, offer it up!

I have a 6700k (delidded) about to come on auction I may consider offering straight-swap. I also have a mobo that goes with it, but would need some cash going my way for that potentially. Both are presently in my system specs.

I also have a few misc headphone amps/dacs from Schiit if that is your thing.

For trades, it doesn't matter honestly. Throw up anything, and if it piques my interest I'll consider it. I just don't really have a use for this laptop, honestly, so anything that I might like or have a use for will be considered.

Anything VR related, or mini systems is what I'd love to find. Maybe an old Rift DK2 or a small form factor system that I can use as an HTPC.

As much as I'd love to have an i7, unfortunately I don't have an 1151 mobo that would work with it and I'm not looking to be out cash. Plus, I wouldn't even know what to do with a delidded chip lol.

I might be interested in headphone amps. Which models?

Schiit Modi 2 uber dac and Schiit Vali tube amp. The Vali is like new with very little use (my headphones don't play well with tubes, pick up background hiss).

Hmm.... I'll have to think about the headphone stack. I love audio equipment, but I haven't had a pair of cans worth having a good DAC and amp in forever. Still have all my HiFi stuff, but been out of the headphone game for awhile. The best I have right now is a set of Astro gaming headphones lol. I AM interested... just gotta think about it for a minute lol.

Might it push you over if I let you keep said Thinkpad's SSD?

I plan on loading a retail windows 10 license and putting a Samsung 850 on there anyways, so the restore image is of little concern to me.

Hm... I'm really thinking about it lol. Problem is, I know as soon as I get a DAC and amp, I'm gonna sit there and think... "Man I'm really not getting the most out of this"... and go spend 400 bucks on a set of cans lol.

Unfortunately no. I don't really need anything at the moment, even this would be a gift for my brother.

The mobo is $75.00 in my FS thread, and we can straight across trade the CPU, but keep in mind you'll need DDR4 ram then (lol it's all a money blackhole I know). I might do a bundle deal and give you the processor and mobo for the laptop + $50.00. You could still keep the SSD if you'd like... maybe help fund the ddr4 you'd need.

If this idea or a derivitave interests you, PM me. We can discuss the particulars.

EDIT: The mobo sold to someone else, sorry man. I can give you the proc + say $25.00 now, but that's all I can really offer.

I believe it has a thunderbolt port, but let me get home and make sure it's not just mini displayport (they look the same) to be 100% sure.


@R-T-B , I appreciate the trade offers. I do really like the idea of the headphone gear, but I just can't justify it without a new headset, and I really don't need to buy one at the moment lol. And if I know me... I would end up going out and buying one... Thanks for the interest though!

Looking to use it with an eGPU lol?

My other lenovo has thunderbolt, and I'm looking into the possibility of using it with an eGPU. Things are about to get interesting when that really becomes mainstream.
