I have given up on fixing my GPU so I have a question. Do I get a GTX 770 4GB version or a GTX 1050 Ti.
Or, you could tell me cards that compare to each of them from NVIDIA or AMD.

What about a GTX1060 6GB? Both those cards you mentioned will be quite a bit slower than your 780.

EDIT: Damn you threw a 780 in that Dell? Thats quite the bottleneck.

@MrDarkwraith I know it's a long shot, but any chance of an RMA on that 780? If not, it might be worth you asking EVGA if a dead card has any kind of exchange value for them. Not likely, but you're only asking.

I agree that it's not worth spending a lot of money on that PC for a decent graphics card as this old CPU will definitely bottleneck it quite significantly at times. Whatever you buy, it tends to be better to get the latest generation, because you gain in terms of features and support. In the case of Pascal, the thing will be very power efficient too and run very cool.

qubit, the international warranty works for 3 years since the release of GPU product line. Since GTX780 was released in 2013, there is no chance of returning to merchant authorities in 2017 even if he had the box intact with the bar code.

I might ask them for an exchange but RMA is definitely out of the window as the Warranty sticker is gone and the serial is gone too. And I've been holding off on getting any AMD cards because this

Oh no, without the identity stickers you're definitely SOL. Shame, I hope you can upgrade that PC to something modern, soon.

He's got a Core 2 Quad Q6700. I would not put anything above GTX1050 Ti anyway.

My advice is to get rid of that S775 computer, and at the very least buy your self a cheap S1151 motherboard, let be it with 8 GB DDR3 and a Core i5 6400 or buy a used S1155 motherboard with 8 GB DDR3 and a Core i5 2500 - HUGE performance boost over Core 2 Quad Q6700 in both cases - at least such a PC will not bottleneck GTX1050 Ti, and in the future you can upgrade to Core i7 in both cases and have a GTX1060 6 GB.

Yeah I agree with you about that. I just need to know what to get. I don't think this can drive a 1060 anyway. So. 770 4GB or 1050 Ti. Or AMD equivalents of those cards.

Then definitely GTX1050 Ti. It's on par with GTX770, but much more efficient in all ways.

There are some nice deals hanging around for second hand 980Tis on this and some of the other forums....

You get one of those and you won't feel the need to upgrade it if you put a new mobo+CPU in your rig

It's possibly dead. I can't really tell but two signs of death is Error 43 and black screens

Have you tried driver removal with DDU and reinstall fresh afterwards? IF you have then the card is dead unfortunately.

Back up and tell us what you were doing, or did just prior to having issue's? More details equals better help? Have you tried trouble shooting it, if so how? It may not be dead, why toss more dead money at till you know for sure its the GPU and not the PSU in the Dell? Can you borrow a friends GPU to make sure? Do you have on board VIDEO?

I got the card from a friend who said it's mine if I can fix it, i doubt it's the PSU (525W, 6+8 Pin, and tried different computers) and Maybe about card borrowing.
