ASRock's Fatal1ty-branded motherboards have recently taken a leap forward in design and tech, offering what might be the most complete gamer-centric design for motherboards today. Yet what happens when you apply that to a value-oriented Intel chipset? The ASRock Fatal1ty H370 Performance is exactly that, and we put it through the paces.

Seems a bit pricey, is $120 the street price? You can get a budget z370 for that.

Why would you want a budget Z370 over a better-featured H370 (aside from OC)?
If you wanted a Z370 in this price range, you'd have to live with something really basic like MSI Z370 GAMING PLUS: single M.2, also no WiFi, worse audio, no USB 3.1 Gen2.

That said, I don't like the styling at all. And the name. There are better boards for the price. All these LEDs must be really expensive...

Well if you didn't understand mobos you could go with that MSI or for $129 you could go with the gigabyte gaming 3 z370 with better audio, on board USB 3.1 gen 2, OC and higher ram speed support just to name a few.

Audio...questionable. By going with a Z370 board for a user that doesn't OC, you give up some design features on Z370 vs H370, like tiny heatsinks, I/O covers, and such. These might not be important for you, but for lots of people, OC isn't even part of their vocabulary. Like I said in the review, this is a great board for your gamer kids... and I would never give them a Z370-based motherboard... it's a waste of money for them. If you take a look at what stores sell in this price range and what's most popular... OMG.
