RGB mouse pads are a thing, but have you seen one with a built-in Qi charger for your phone? The ASUS ROG Balteus Qi is certainly not your usual mouse surface. With its portrait-oriented, micro-textured plastic surface, 15-zone RGB lighting and built-in USB port, it's definitely a groundbreaking mouse pad, and it's a very expensive one at that.

"RGB mouse pads are a thing, but have you seen one with a built-in Qi charger for your phone? "
actually yes ... or rather no... not a RGB one, but the Corsair MM1000 has a Qi spot (and is out since quite some time now, ~1yrs now ) although i wouldn't use any of these two to charge a phone (even if the Balteus would be more capable than the MM1000)

nonetheless interesting alternative to the Corsair MM 1000 charging pad ..., as it has a extra input to power the Qi area unlike the MM1000

well i could get either one for my Corsair Dark Core RGB SE which is a Qi enabled wireless mouse ... but i prefer my 10 time cheaper Qi dual coil stand up charging station and keeping my Roccat Alumic, i guess

Holy cow. Mouse pads that cost over $100. Even with the charging capabilities some of them offer, that's mighty steep.

ah corsair's one is 79.99$ (discounted 39.99$ atm ) plus come with a range of accessories to charge about anything with a microUSB/USB-C/Lightning

the one i ought to mention to be similarly priced was the Logitech Powerplay one ... which charge the mouse while in use ... unlike the Balteus and the MM1000, which technically make it worth it over those two even at 100$+

ah, in the end the Balteus is not worth anything ... too expensive and nothing to vouch for it aside the extra connection to power up the Qi charging point, counterbalanced for the fact that the MM1000 offer a charging multi adaptor for 20$ less (60$ less atm), which would also be placed too high for a mouse like the Dark Core SE.

There are dedicated Qi chargers on Amazon for $11 (Made in China, yes, but what isn't MiC these days?)
https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Qi-Certified-Charging-Compatible-Qi-Enabled/dp/B079KZ49PJ/

I don't get it why they need such a massive price premium just for this feature.
The Non-Qi one is just $60.
https://www.amazon.com/ROG-Balteus-Vertical-Micro-Textured-Pass-Through/dp/B07M65DNKH/

I can buy 4 pads and charge all the phones in the house at the same time for the price difference.

Also ... "Highly Recommended" badge on a pad costing $110 ... pfff.
